| Introducing Dixie and Teddy Attention to everyone!! Ebonysmom (my mom) and my sister and I have just gotten 2 new members of the family. Mom ordered a little female from the breeder in North Carolina, and so on Saturday we went to pick her up. I have REALLY wanted a Yorkie, ever since she ordered hers, so she said, "Well, when we go down, ask the breeder if he has any more!" And so we got to North Carolina safely, but on the way to another part of it, our transmission in our van died (at the top of the mountain) and we had to be taken by the state trooper back to our hotel room. Anyway, so after a few hours of not knowing how we were gonna get home, we got a rental van and on Sunday afternoon, at about 2:00 went to the breeder to pick up the 'babies' !! Mom got a wonderful little female, we are naming her: Miss Dixie Darling of Running Deer. (Dixie for short) She is 10 weeks old and as of today when we took her to the vet, she weighed 2 lbs and 11 oz. Megan and I decided to 'share' a puppy. The breeder had three males. One was a little skittish, one was so spastic it was nuts, and then he had one that was just directly in the middle. We decided to get the medium hyper one, and he is: Master Teddy Terrier of Running Deer (Teddy for short) He is 8 weeks old, and as of today he weighed 1 lb and 10 oz. After a long 7 hour car ride back to Virginia, they were so HAPPY to be home, they seemed like different dogs from the sleepy puppies we had in the van! They were running all around and so excited to look and smell everything! They have a playpen set up in the living room, a shower curtian with a blanket on top underneath, with a piddle pad, food/water, bed etc. and LOTS of toys. After their vet visit today, ( A clean bill of health) we went to Petsmart, where they had the best time smelling all the chewies and toys we bought them. They also got collars and harnesses and name tags. Now we are going to have to start buying clothes and things for Teddy because he doesn't have any! They are now sleeping after a nice meal of some Chicken and Rice puppy food and they had a great time scampering around the living room while their area was getting cleaned and are SO ADORABLE. I am at nursing school right now, but when I get home later tonight I will surely post some pictures! Sorry for such a long post, but we were so excited!! |

| Congratulations on the new babies! It is so exciting when they first come home. I have had Onni now for a little over 6 weeks and I am still excited; I am beginning to think the excitement of owning a Yorky never wears off!
