| I'm moving in August! woooo. I can't chop them down as I live in an apartment of I DEFINATLY would... I'm thinking of shaving her too just bc it's so hot here, 100 degrees or more everyday, and bc of the burrs but she is only 5 months...never been groomed.

| i was just telling my hubby about this and said that in texas the burs are unbelieveable and if you step on one it literally draws blood.. then i saw where you are from! lol. i had to laugh about that.. im glad you got them out-they can be really painful-i had a dalmatian that used to step on them occasionally when i was stationed there, and she would just freeze-lift her paw and look at me-id dig it out. i felt so bad for dogs there..

| Oh, no! What a horrible feeling! You have my complete sympathy. We have one tree in our whole yard and for the first time ever, it dripped this sticky sap in the yard, unbeknownst to me until a few weeks ago when our three were playing and rolled aaaallllll in it. I got most of it out but there were a few spots that I had to cut out. It honestly made me sick to my stomach. But I know your baby is happy that you got her all taken care of and fixed up. |

| Those things are so horrible. Duke picks up a couple every now and then, I don't know where from, but I have a cat who I swear has 3x the amount of hair as duke, and wherever he roams to, he picks up tons of them! I know what it takes to sit there and pick them all out, poor baby. It's bad when they are on their face too. Good thing you are moving soon! Hopefully your new place wont have them!

| I used to live in OK and we had those stickers everywhere. I remember walking barefoot through the (dead) grass and getting those things stuck in my feet. There is like no possible way to avoid them either. Stupid stickers!

| Awww, so much hair had to come out with the burrs?? I consider the ones that actually have points and hurt to be "stickers" and the flat ones are called burrs. I'm thinking this (the burrs) must be what your baby had. We live out in the country so they are a fact of life for us but all I have to do is just separate the hair a little bit that is around the burr and it comes out. There may be a few strands of hair in the pile of burrs when I'm done but not as much as you had. Maybe you had some stickers in with the burrs and they didn't come out as easily?? Yes, I would say no more walks in the woods unfortunately if you have them that badly out there.

I believe you..... if she literally rolled in them, I can see how that would have done some serious damage. Poor baby. At least she let you pull them out.... surely she didn't like it while you were doing it but it seems like she knew it was for the best.
