I don't have any days off this week except for one or I would! But yet to message fufufashions she is near Houston!

There's a world of miles between Houston and Amarillo - about 600 to be precise - I googled it :) these yorkies are located near amarillo ...in Borger TX

I found a United Yorkie Rescue in Marion, TX and V said it's about
9hrs away I forwarded the info to them anyhow in case they have
connectionscloser by. Finger's crossed you never know.

Texas is so freakin huge. :(:(:(

I looked at the Borger Animal control site and no where do they state they are a kill shelter. But - being that they're in the boonies (sorry for you country folk) but it IS way out there - they need to give those dogs some time & let yorkie people get the word out.

I looked and they don't have that many in their shelter up for adoption - only about 8-9 - HOW CROWDED Can it be ? It's like they have to follow a time limit and ANYONE CAN MAKE AN EXCEPTION

I feel bad for all dogs in shelters -

down the road - that's where my next dog will be coming from.

OMG poor babies!! I really hope someone can help thats in the area!! Right this second I wish I lived in Texas to help!! I go to the shelters every now and then to see if there are any Yorkies I can save and I end up wanting every dog in the place...I feel so bad for these animals!! Please somebody help them!!

I'm working for the next 3 days otherwise I'd go get them. Borger is 2 hrs away from me in Elk City, OK. I saw this thread late lastnight and it was to late to go there. I sent a pm to a couple people I know in the tx panhandle. I hope they can help out.

9 hours is too far.. all of us here in Oklahoma are only 4 1/2 hours away. We would go get them but we all work during the week.. we just wanted someone who was really close by to go get them. YT is huge, there HAS to be someone who lives close by who is willing to help.

If we have to wait another day or two I might just ask Kelly and Angi if they have any time off.. and we can go down there together.

I feel like I'm a million miles away, I'm following this thread and desperately praying someone can help these babies! I personally don't know of any kill shelter's in the UK is this a common occurrence in the US?

You never know if you don't try. UYR just could have someone who
is close to this area. To me, it was well worth the try.

I'm sorry if my reply came off as rude.. I just meant that I didn't want someone to have to drive 9 hours when all I had to drive was 4.. do you get what I'm saying?

Like Villette said, Texas is huge. I live in East Texas, and it takes 10 hours one way to get to Amarillo. Oklahoma is much closer. Amarillo is the only big town in the whole panhandle. Wish I could help :(

i am 3 hours away but i work weds, thurs, and friday. This week all day because we are short handed. so my mom will be watching my babies

We have a rescue who wants them ... OK Yorkie Rescue. It is just a matter of getting them picked up :(
We are working on it though.

Are you going to be able to get them by tomorrow? I emailed Yorkie Rescue Haven and she called and the shelter said that they were holding them for OK Yorkie Rescue to pick them up tomorrow....if for some reason you are not able to get them please let us know... Yorkie Rescue Haven is full, and was happy to hear that OK was going to take them, but she would pull them if needed..... maybe they would work with you? I am in MA but I know one of the members of that group from when we were both with a national rescue...

Ok... so, I just spoke with Kathy (Katrn) she is going tomorrow morning to pick them up then I will meet up with her in Weatherford at 3:00 to pick them up from her. Then... off to their foster momma (or Kelly, they need vet visits) then up & available for adoption YAY US.... we will update everyone tomorrow on how things are going!!!!

I want to say Thank you to all who were ready & willing to help... For those who would still like to help.... donations will help these babies get the vet visit & whatever else they need or any of our other rescues we currently have...

Thank you so much for being willing to help... we have it figured out unless a MAJOR problem arises, which I HIGHLY doubt. We are so excitd to get these 2 sweeties!!!

I am going in the morning when I get off work to pick them up. I will drive there and hubby will drive home. I will then drive to Weatherford and hand the babies off to Rusty's momma so they can get to their new foster home!!!!!
