Unplayful Princess.... Ok, I do not know whether to worry or be thankful. Princess is the calmest 5 month old puppy I have ever seen. I bring her everywhere and everyone, I mean everyone, makes a comment how quiet she is. All she does is sleeps. She has only barked a few times since we got her. She doesnt really fetch and occasionally she will try to play with other dogs. We went to the nail salon today and it was packed. She sat in her wide open bag and slept the whole time I got my nails done. She is not hyper at all. Is this bc she is still young? I kind of wish she would play a little bit more. Let me know

| Is she eating well. I think I would start her on nutrical if she isn't already. Might boost her energy a little. How much does she weigh? I am going to guess that you are a relatively calm person, 'they' say a dog picks this up from it's owner.

She weighs 2.5 pds. We are free feeding her now, and she eats/drinks well and her health is great as far as I know. She does play, but every once in awhile. I just thought that puppies play a whole lot. I think maybe I need to take her to puppy training classes with other dogs.

Do you get down on the floor ever and play with her? I don't know...Kacee is 4 months old and plays really hard sometimes and at least once a day, usually in the cool of the evening, she will go outside and run for awhile (I'd swear at least 80 mph ). She played with Cosmo this evening and they played I think it was like 2-1/2 hours rolling and tumbling and having a big time. Cosmo is 5 months old.

Princess sounds a little like our Kodah. Kodah is 6 months old (right at 2 lbs) & she has never been hyper at all. She will play for a while jumping after a sock or playing hide-n-seek, but overall she is quite independent. When she wants to sleep she will go to one (of her many ) beds. She lets me brush her & she loves to go "bye-bye". She will sleep in her bed in the car or sleep in her carrying purse/bag. I can take her anywhere & she will just lay in her bag. We also have a yorkie/maltese Stormy & she is rather laid back, too. About once or twice a day they will get into a game of chase & it's a riot to watch the two of them play & wrestle, but for the most part they are very calm dogs & I am THANKFUL! I'm not sure how much Kodah would play without Stormy & my daughter's chihuahua - she definitely likes to play with other dogs more than people. & we do have them in puppy class together -last week they just sat & looked at the other dogs bouncing off the walls!!!

It sounds like it is just her temperament. Mine are all pretty hyper but Hefner plays hard and sleeps just as hard. He goes to bed at about 9pm and sleeps until 10am. Chai is totally hyper and sleepsvery little. She is very thin and athletic. Ava is still a baby at 13 weeks so it is hard to tell, but she is pretty hyper too. It is really fun to watch the different personalities and how they mix.

Gucci is a year old and she has her play time and her sleeping time. If your baby is healthy most likely she is just the calm type. I wouldnt worry.

Be very thankful! All my 3 little girls were this way. They were just a joy to be around, I could take them anywhere. Dennis is my first male and he named himself. I have had him for 2 months now and I get nervous just taking him down the block to the vet. He is a real wiggly worm. Sue

puppy IMO for peace of mind, I would have a bile acid test run..no panic, just wise to do on a tiny Yorkie who is acting the way your pup does. If all is well after a few tests I would not be concerned. Best wishes.

My Desi gets her ques from me.. If I get down on the floor and play, she plays. When I stop, she stops. If we are out and she is in her bag it always amazes me how quiet and calm she is even after spending hours in that bag. In the beginning I was concerned because I felt a 3 month old puppy should be more active, so after taking her to the vet and getting a clean bill of health I called the breeder. She told me to thank my lucky star... Desi is 8 months old today and she is still the same, active when someone is playing with her or happy just sitting on my lap. And you know, I do thank my luck star..

Check her gums, are they nice and pink? If not, need to give Nutrical or Karo or honey. It could be personality but most yorkies play. Mine bring a toy and drop it at my feet. The heat in Fl has affected all of us. They do not want to play outside as much, me either. But I would expect some activity is needed.
