| Mine weighs 6 pounds and he is almost 10 months old. We have a dog walk every year here in Austin that is a 5K (3 miles). It was about a month ago now and I wanted Scooter to do it. While he gets regular walks, its not like I really push him with distances much. I was surprised how well he did. There were thousands of dogs (literally) and he had a blast. I do races regularly but this was his first one. He actually pulled me. I didn't want to push him but we ended up running most of it. He had a blast and never looked back. He actually got frustrated when people wouldnt move out of his way. It was so cute. He got a finishers medal and everything. I carried him for the first three blocks because of the see of people and I was afraid someone would accidentally step on him. Once it started to thin out, I put him down and never picked him back up. I think your baby will do great. Just take a water bottle (I used most of the water I had to pour on him to keep him cool because it was starting to get hot out). THe dog walk had dog water stations and baby pools for a quick dip all over which was nice. While he would drink from the bowls they had, he was a true prince and took one look at the dirty baby pools (from the other dogs) and gave me the cutest look. I also took little jerky treats but didn't really need them. He did fine without them. Water is key. Scooter had a blast but came home and slept for two days. I have already signed him up for next year's dog walk. If you have something like that in your area, sign up because your guy will love it. Hope it goes well! |

| I am glad to hear so many able to do the walk. When we walk our scheduled walk (with my friend and her two dogs) we walk on the beach and it is not a stroll!! We beat feet!! lol. I have already spoken with my friend and we will just take it slow to begin with and see how it goes. I do have a "skin" babies front pack that I will wear and put Mimi in it if need be!

| Haha!!! to be honest......The breeder told me that she was about 7 lbs. When I saw her, I thought she was about 5 lbs. I weighed her on a doctors scale and it said she WAS 7 lbs (we go to the vet on Tues and will know for sure) She just looks so tiny compared to my 14 lber!! LOL I guess.....in my eyes I don't weigh as much as I really do!!!!

| About 3 people that own our puppies are "runners" ... One lady that lives in Ny has one of the smallests i ever had, she is only 2 pounds 14 ounces and she runs with her about 3.5 to 5 miles 4 or 5 times a week, of course when she is tired she gets picked up for a bit.... I read a book that says specifically well trained yorkies can walk or run up to 6 miles per day. I think it depends on the common sense of the owner and training.... i am sure if you take the time to train your dog the right way and if she is healthy and has good legs she will be fine !!!! Do not think that i was not surprized to say the least when i found out about the little peanut running.... but she is almost 4 years old now, very healthy and loves her "run" .... so i guess that is a lesson... they are small , but they want to be a dog !!!

| I think that she will be fine. I bring my baby (5.5 pounds) for about a mile bike ride each day. (flat put running) and by the end of that he is about ready for a nap. but we occaisionally(sp?) walk for a few miles and he is fine just be sure to bring lots of water.
