| Tooth Questions Chewie is right at 5mo. and I was wondering when do they start losing their baby teeth? I check his mouth regularly and can't really tell what's going on in there. I don't see extra teeth or anything and I can't feel any loose ones. We make sure to play tug as much as possible to start getting them loose, but I'm not seeing any progress yet...is it just too early?

| Brooklyn started losing hers right around five months. She is just now 7 months old and still has some to loose. I can't tell you the number of teeth I found laying around or swept up. I remember one day she was kind of pawing at her mouth. I kept thinking what is she doing? It was soo funny to watch her. Well a couple minutes later she spit a tooth out had I not been there she would have picked it back up. Stinker! I am convinced that if I didn't hardwood floors I would never see them. However, she did have missing places in her mouth, well kind of like a kid. Hope this helps! and makes sense. LOL! |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Hi, are we the only ones up? Joey lost a few by then, but the vet had to pull the rest when he was neutered. Some people say they sometimes swallow baby teeth, and you won't even see anything. Playing tug of war is good idea, and they love this game. I do recommend you get him use to checking his mouth and brushing his teeth. Yorkies are prone to problems with their teeth, and I brush Joey's teeth with chicken flavored toothpaste, as well as use Petzlife tooth gel, which helps prevent tartar. Even though he will lose these teeth, I think the earlier they get use to the brushing the better.

| I think we are the about the only ones here, LOL! I'ma super-dooper night owl plus I'm not working right now, that just makes it worse. When I go back to work I'm not sure how I'll be able to transition back....but anyway! Yeah, we have beige colored carpet so I'm sure I wont find many if any once they start falling out. Chewie's good about letting me look in his mouth. Brushing is something I need to start getting him aquainted with. Thanks for the info guys!
