| My grandma has the biggest teapot I have ever seen. I went to see her a few weeks ago and her yorkie Toby...Oh my goodness!!! I could not even pick him up it was hard!! She told me the last time he was at the vet he weighed 26 pounds but I think he has gained even more. I don't think it's healthy. BC he is NOT that tall and he is NOT that long HE IS OVERWEIGHT. She feeds him non stop. And if there is no food in his bowl, he picks it up and throws it down on the tile floor over and over... It's ridiculous! And she gives him human food and dog treats all the time. I'm gonna go look for a picture of him... You will be like OMG

| Ahh that is so sad. You should ask her if she has joint pain. I am assuming if she is your grand mother she is older and could possibly understand joint pain. Explain to her that the excess weight leads to pain and suffering. Maybe that will help?? poor baby. |

| I need to see this picture. Please tell grandma it's bad for him. He will be around alot longer to keep her company if she justs put's him on a healthy diet. People really think they are doing their pet a favor by feeding them all the time. My BIL was the sameway with his Lab. Gigantic he was and it took years off his life. Now he understands, too late. RIP Rusty. |

| Yeah, That is not good. A dog too heavy or too thin causes health problems. Could you convince to take him to the vet? The vet would probably put him on a diet. However, she might love to feed him, and pamper him. Yorkies are fun that way, but, too much is unhealthy |

| She has put him on a diet but like I said he still bangs his food bowl. I know she cut down on his treats. Honestly I think it is a combo of him naturally being a larger dog and h im getting extra helpings once and a while... It's weird bc he is not like giggly fat he is pretty solid. And he is still pretty active... I'm still looking for a pic.

| omg poor baby... i hope he is healthy once she takes him to the vet. my mom is always tellin me to feed abby. i hate that cuz abby only weighs 3 lbs n she expects me to feed her like every 2 or 3 hours. she thinks cuz abby looks at her while she eats, that she needs to eat. she's only bn a monkey wonkey cuz if u stretch out ur hand n try to give her some chicken she will walk away cuz she just ate. n wen i tell my mom to stop it she just rolls her eyes at me n i roll them back lol. |

| My grandma has the biggest teapot I don't know that you could make her change her ways, but she should take the food bowl up except to feed in the morning and afternoons. Hope you get a picture to show us.

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | My Dad (I love him dearly) loves to feed all our pets(daughter's).....thinks we don't feed them enough. It was so hard to get him to understand that we only feed them certain things. He feeds his neighbors' dogs too, but they are bigger dogs & the neighbors don't miind. He also thinks people take their pets to the Vet way too often these days. You just have to think about how they grew up. Pls try to explain to her how unhealthy it is. She thinks she's doing good.

| Aw, I don't think it's sad. He is a fat happy boy. He eats a lot, but he still exercises, he can still run. She gives him a wonderful life but as you could imagine (from what I see) a lot of older people spoil their pets more in terms of food. NOW I'm not saying all, I'm just saying I've seen it a lot... Like my best friend's grandma...SHE is bad. She would go to McDonalds just to get a meal for the DOG. And only fed him people food. She would cook for him too. I thought it was funny but yes, I guess it does put the dog at risk. My grandma did say she put him on a "diet" and trys to ignore him when he tosses his food around. HE is very demanding and sneaks food. So I didn't come on here to put down my grandma, she is great to that dog. (She is emailing me a picture so I can post it, buuuut, she doesn't really know how so it may be a while).

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This is really hard on the dog's joints even if he is a "solid fat". Dogs are one animal, that don't know when to stop eating, and will eat themselves sick, if allowed to. It's up to your grandma to give the proper diet, or the dog will suffer needlessly.

Your post made me remember an incident when I was having Jack in the Box outside the restaurant one summer. One lady had a dog sitting outside while my Kimchee was there with me (I was eating my salad). The lady liked Kimchee and threw some of her hamburger to him. I was like "What the ....". I was praying Kimchee would not eat that piece of hamburger, and thank god he DID NOT. The lady who threw the hamburger to Kimchee told me that her dog ate one whole hamburger each time. I had no comment and I just smiled at her.
