| What room does your Yorkie stay? Ours is in the eat-in breakfast area. We have a pretty big kitchen, and the breakfast area is the back area of it. It's a very convenient place for his pen. Plus, while we're gone all day it is impossible for him to move his pen past the narrow entry between the breakfast area and the main kitchen area, so there are never any messes outside of a controlled area. I'd thrown around the idea of letting him have the laundry room, but that idea was squashed quickly at the thought of having smells near clean clothes. |

| My Mac's crate is in my bedroom for sleeping and I bring it downstairs every morning for him to spend the day in the work area of the kitchen. We too have a large kitchen and his crate separates the work area from the eat-in area of the kitchen. If Mac plays in the eat-in area he may make a 'mess' but he doesn't in the work area. We just have to be careful turning around in there... with three dogs playing under our feet! Then I take his crate back upstairs to my bedroom every night for 'bedtime'.

| We "live" in our bonus room (watch tv, play on the computers, even eat our evening meals while we watch tv), so we knew Elvis would need a special place for his exercise pen, which meant we didn't want the carpet to be ruined in case of accidents. We bought a linoleum remnant, which happily matched the carpet. We placed the pen on top, layed out his pee pads (with the bottom of the pen on top of the edge to keep them in place) his little bed and his food/water dishes. He just did great in there until the day he began to climb over the pen. We finally removed the pen and left the linoleum with the pee pads and food/water dishes. Works like a dream!

| When we are home, they have free roam of the house. When we are gone, depending on how long, they are either in the bathroom/bedroom or in the spare room in their pens. I put them up in the spare room when I am cleaning to keep them from being underfoot or when we have lots of people over to keep them from slipping outside when people come in and out--I'm mindful to watch them near the door, but not everyone is. Keeps them feeling 'safer' and calmer too! |

| I have my kitchen gated, but she just lays by the gate. I think she is scared of the noises. Running water, loud washer and dryer, chairs moving. But its the only place in the house without carpet. *The linoleum remnant someone posted sounds like a good idea!!! She sleeps in her crate in the bedroom and I sit in the bedroom and play with her. I also have an excercise pen outside by my garden, so shes safe while I work on my plants.

| I keep mine in the bedroom by my bed. I bought one of those nylon fold up cages and I love it. She can stand up in it and move around and get comfortable, plus it only cost $17.00 and doesn't take up any room to take in the car. Just folds up to about 18 by 18 and is only about an inch high. Has nylon screen on both sides and the front for air movement. Pat |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | When we're gone, we "fence off" our master bathroom, which opens off of our master bedroom (which is part of their "den" and comfy to them) - so they have that area, which is tile. It has a pee pad area, a huge poufy pillow, 2 round beds, toys, area to roam/play. Plus, it's not "visually" claustrophobic bc there is a window and the bedroom is visible, but is fenced off (Wylie hates closed doors, OH MY).

| We have a kitchen/diner where Tink currently sleeps. She has the full run of this area. (24 feet x 14 feet) She use to have newspaper on the floor near the back door for pee etc in the night, but she stopped doing anything at night a month or so ago, so she was 4mths old when she stopped. (I am so pleased with how quickly she became a clean girl.)

| My boys are gated into my kitchen. I have a galley type kitchen that bumps out a bit at one end, so its good size for them. When im home they have free run of the house.
