| be considerate of your breeder Some of us truly pour our hearts and souls into our breeding and try our best to send our puppies out into the world with the most carefully selected people we can find. One very special puppy left my home three weeks ago with a seemingly lovely woman who made lots of promises about staying in touch. Well, other than an email the next day to day everything was fine, there's been no word and no answer to my own email a couple of days ago. She knew this puppy was one whose progress I was very interested in. I don't want to interfere in their lives, but it would be nice to know her vet checkup was OK, etc. To those of you who took the trouble to select a responsible breeder, his/her love for that puppy most likely didn't end when you left with it. Please keep in touch. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I can repect that I agree with you. I did'nt get my Aiden at the best place, but I've called her and e-mailed her some updates on him. I don't get any responces, but I've made the attempt to keep in touch. I truley hated the enviroment from which he was in. Not clean or in any order, dogs and cats everywhere, but in there own way they loved their animals.

YT 2000 Club Member | Awe, I'm sorry to hear she hasn't kept in touch, that's gotta be so sad for you. Hopefully you hear back from her soon. My brother just purchased a bulldog pup here about a month and a half ago, he doesn't have a digital camera so I have been taking pics of his pup and sending off to the breeder. He had Cherry eye in both eyes very badly and my brother has already had the surgery done to correct this, I thought the breeder would be interested in knowing how he came through and to see what his beautiful eyes look like now. Out of common courtesy and knowing if it was me, I'd want to know how the pup adjusted and how he was doing, I sent a bunch of pics off to her, she never replied back this time, I've kinda wondered if I have bothered her by sending her updates. it's good to know though that other breeders out there care and want update on the pups they send out into the world.

YT 2000 Club Member | Personally I think it's awesome that a breeder would want to stay in touch and see how the pups are doing in life. To me it shows they really care about the furkids and aren't just in it for the money.

| I agree, I have some that do stay in touch and some that don't. I really apperciate the one's that do and always wonder about the one's that don't. I also try to stay in touch with the breeder's that I deal with.

| Well said. I have talked on the phone and sent photos to Archie's breeder over the two and a half years I've had him and she is always so happy to hear from us. When I got Archie, she told me there is always at least one in the litter who is "special" and Archie was it. She gave me a wonderful gift -- my beautiful little baby -- so I feel it's a kindness to update her on his progress from time to time.

| I totally agree. I would have loved to keep in touch with Chelsea's breeder. I thought I had used a great breeder. I was so happy with her, that I sent her 3 clients who indeed did buy pups. I sent her several emails with updated pictures of Chelsea and she only responded once, months after I had contacted her. She showed no concern or even bothered to answer any of my questions. Mind you, my cousin and I bought 2 pups from her! |

| It's funny that you just posted this, because I just emailed pictures of Wrigley to her breeder last night! I hate to admit it was the first time and she's almost two, but in my defense, I just recently became picture posting literate! She emailed me back and was so happy to see the photos!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I keep in touch regularly with Pixie and Roxie's breeder and send pics. She will call me occassionally just to talk and when I had a major health issue (RIP Dixie) she responded very favorably and felt as bad as I did. I really appreciate a breeder who wants contact.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Peeka's breeder i have sent a lot of pics to and kept in touch till he was just over a yr old. She was nice and responsive. Daisy's breeder i really thought would appreciate pics but i send them and no responce, She doesn't even return my phone calls or emails anymore. It really sucks! She retired but it's like she just doesn't care. I no longer even try to send her pics anymore.
