| Flying a puppy home? Have any of you had your pup flown home to you? How was your experience from picking up the puppy to seeing him/her for the first time in real life? I am only talking with reputable breeders , they are not close to where we live .. as much as I trust them, we never experienced getting a puppy this way.. would like to hear from those of you who experienced it Thanks Ree |

| I have never had a dog flown to me here in the states (mine was from Germany), but have shipped one puppy and one adult out. I recommend bringing towels (wet ones like for babies too), food, water and nutrical or nutristat. When shipping under 12 hours (I think) they don't feed them - if it goes over a certain time period they will. There is a bag of food attached to the top of the crate that shipper put there, but I would bring some more just in case it fell off on the trip or something. The towels and wet ones are just in case they went potty because let's face it I am sure they are going to have to before they get to you! Of course nutrical or nutristat to get their sugars up because it's been a while since they ate. The puppy I shipped did GREAT! She was clean and very happy when she got there! I did ship her Continintal because they are the only ones that ship in the winter and you can track them online - that part I really liked. Although you can call Delta and verify if the flight is on time so it's ALMOST the same as the other didn't update very often and I was ALWAYS checking it. LOL I think it's just as stressful for the person shipping the pup as it is for the one getting it!! I was a worried mess!! Wendy

I'm lived in NY (the Bronx) all my life and just moves to jersey at the end of march.....check out this website: Sawyer puppies & www.puppumatch4u.com....booth websites are for Carrie Sawyer, she has 10 children of her own and that is why my furbaby is so friendly......check out the site she's got some really cute babies now! If you decide to call and speak with her tell that you spoke with Jamila...also the thing I loved about she wanted to know where the pups were going and some things about you personally so that she could match you up with the perfect puppy for you

| flying a puppy home Hi again Jamila... thanks for the web site.. I took a peek and they are all adorable! I am so glad you had a great experience with her..that makes a huge difference. Bryan is adorable I have two different breeders that I am talking with.. one has a very small male, haven't seen him yet, she is emailing me pictures on Monday. The other has two litters, male and females will be available, but they are only 3-4 weeks so she hasn't taken pictures yet.. I will probably get a puppy from one or the other, it took a lot of research for me to find them. just wish I found a good, reputable breeder closer to home..... thanks for your help, that was so nice! I will keep you posted Ree |

| flying a puppy home Hi JJ Thanks for all your advice! I appreciate it very much. no, I do not know anyone who got their puppy from either one of them, but they both are show breeders and their lines are in a lot of lines that I found when researching (that is how I found them) very pricey though (ouch!) | I had Peanut fly in from Arkansas to NJ on Delta. My breeder had to feed him within so many hours of his flight and we had to watch the weather because he came in August and Delta will not ship if the temp past 85 at any part of travel. His first flight was cancelled that was to come in at Philadelphia , then we changed and had him fly in to Atlantic city weather a little cooler. He did great was eating kibble on the way on laying in my daughter's lap. Good luck. |

| Both of mine were flown in Zoe at 12 weeks from Arkansas and Peppee at 5 months was out of Texas to Pennsylvania. Zoe arrived no problems, well taken care of. Peppee was scared to death and still to this day is now skiddish with loud noises. I have to wonder if maybe his carrier was bumped or thrown or something. I didn't name him. I think typically when someone names a dog Peppee it is for a reason. He is very "peppy" now but still a bit skiddish.

| How my angel came to me.... Yes!!! I have!!! and it was the most memorable and precious moment in my Life!!!!!!!!I will never forget!!! My baby girl KeKe came from Brazil!and she was 4 months and a half ... the poor baby had to stay in the carrier for like 10-13 hours during the flight!!!! when I found that out i felt heartbroken .... but i remember that day like it was yesterday!!!! i live in port st. lucie , fl ... and we had to go pick her up in Miami, fl!!! 3 hrs nd a half... me and my boyfriend... her daddy .. woke up very very early like at 3 in the morning because the plane was arriving at 6 in the morning! .... we drove alll the way there starring at the 1 and only picture we had of her... we were very excited nd extremely anxious to our bones!!!! Him nd I couldn't wait to see our new baby!!! as we arrived at the airport ... the security said that the cargo was alll the way on the other side of the airport.... we had to drive another 20 mins!!!!! all around the entire airport!!!!!! we jumped in the car and sped untill we arrived at the cargo area.... we were even early and the 1st ones there.... i had to get her out of that cage!!!!! .... then, when we were able to enter the building, the lady said we had to drive to another building to recieve authorization.... another 10 mins.! ... then there was a $15 dollar fee .... that we had to pay CASH! i didn't have cash ... so another 10 mins. to drive to another building and back to get cash from an ATM.... FINALLLY!!!! they brought her out in this red carrier and put her on top of the counter..... she stood all the way in the back cuddled in a ball.... shaking!!!!! I jumped for the cage.. and the lady stops me and says i still have to fill out paperwork!!! dang it!! so another 5 mins.... FINALLLY ... now this time its for real! ... sike! we still had to tear the to lock strips!!!!! another 5 mins... to find a knife and cut it of!!! ok thats it!!! i tore the front cage off and grabbed her shaking body and held her heart next to mine and just breathed until her heart beat matched mine..... then i looked gently upon her face .... her eyes glared and glazed at me..... and thats when we first bonded..... then me and justin(my boyfriend) went and took our little ball of fur outside ... nd man can she run!! she ran around us like a racecar in a track.... that little 1.8 pounds of fur was ours!!! our little baby girl finally came home!!!!! nd now she is 9 months old living happily ever after!!!! THE END!
