| Oh geeze! So guess this means he is going to TRY and do it to Roxi?? He probably wont be able to now cause he is so little, but she is only 3lbs and I'm sure by the time he is old enough to be neutered he will be big enough to do it!! EEEEWWWWWW!!! It should stop after he is neutered right??? Can I just expect it to get more frequent now??(Roxi is already spayed BTW)

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm glad Roxi is spayed, yes the behavior will continue until he is spayed, and perhaps a short while thereafter. Sounds like you are going to have to assert yourself as the Alpha leader, remember humping is a dominance issue. While Joey humped his toys before he was neutered, I would never allow him to hump me. For more information on this see: Alpha Boot Camp

| I visited with a breeder over Christmas, I can't recall exactly how old the puppies were, but I think around 3 months and the little males were already humping! She said it was normal!

| You can teach him not to do that, and get him neutered at around 6 months of age... It should stop.

| Totally normal… although, Oscar never humped anything until he was over ONE year old (late bloomer I guess?) — he was neutered at 6mths and I've really only seen him do it a few times for a couple seconds then he stops as if he doesn't realize what he's doing. Ruthie humps Oscar sometimes though, which is pretty funny to see! (I always stop any 'humping' behavior... male or female, lol)

| Totally Normal! Yeah that's totally Normal, but that's not a good sign. For both male & female dogs of all Breeds "Humping" is not Sexual, it's a sign of "Domination" or an attempt at least! If you did not purchase him specifically to "Breed", you should get him "Fixed" asap! It sounds like he is just trying to establish his rank for an "Alpha" position between the 3 of you? Just remember there is only one "Pack Leader" and the rest are Followers and the fact that he's "Humping" you, means he recognizes that you are the one to "Challenge". Besides small Breeds develope faster in every way. Hope this helps? |

| It's normal, and sex has nothing to do with it. It's a show of dominance. I would just tell him no when he does it and get him interested in something else. You have to assert yourself as the "alpha".
