| Yorkie Pup Info Request We are relatively new Yorkie parents. Our girl Bossy is now 16 weeks old and we love her so much we decided to get another. We found a male and he is very young and not weaned yet. We visited him today and noticed his claws were white. Are Yorkies born with white claws that then turn black or are we looking at a potential problem? i.e.-mixed breed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

| Can you explain a little more, what do you mean his claws were white? Also, how old is he? |

| He was born on 05/02/2008. Bossy's claws are black in color. His are not dark at all the were light in color. We had read in a book that they should be black and the breeder said they would turn darker and eventually black. |

| Hmm I have never heard of this, but I know that my boys' claws were never light in color. I picked both of them out when they were just a few weeks old, and their claws were always black. You might also post this in the breeder's section, someone there might know.

| I thought that they were born white and turned black after several weeks. Read it somewhere....just can't remember where.

| you will sometimes find young ones with white nails and white marking on chest and chin, these usually changed to the proper color as they mature...

| I don't know about the nails, but unless your planning to show I can't see it being a problem some yorkies do have alittle white here and there! I'm sure you'll love her whether they change or not! Congrats on addin her to your family!!!
