They interviewed one of her buyers on TV, and of course, it was a little yorkie. The lady insisted on meeting her at a gas station, would not let her come to her home. SHe had a small little girl in the car with her, and as a matter of fact, it was the little girl who handed her the yorkie. THe yorkie died within the first two weeks the lady had it...buying cost $500.00, and the lady insisted on cash only.

| Whitney Hurdle unknowingly adopted a seven week old puppy, Tootsie, from the Barretos. Hurdle said she found the couple through a classified ad. "Only one close," she said. "I could get it the next day. Didn't look into it. Now I wish I had." Rather than get the puppy at the breeder's house, the breeder had Hurdle meet her in a parking lot. That's where Hurdle handed over $500 in cash- the only method of payment Barreto accepted. "Had a child with her, a little girl," Hurdle said. "Nine or ten. Little girl carrying the puppy. She seemed alright. Gave me papers." When Hurdle took Tootsie to the vet for her boosters, the vet was concerned about the teacup yorkie's size. "He said he'd never seen one that small," she said. A day after the booster shots, Tootsie died. Hurdle said she hoped her experience would encourage others always go the breeder's home before buying a dog.

| OMG HOW SICK! They probably did do it, but they are going to let the 17yr old take the blame and hope he/she won't be charged as an adult...did anyone read that sentance "the 17 year old minor"? And there neighbor says their so loving? Rather they are guilty or not, anyone running a puppymill doesn't know one thing about love!

| OMG, that is SO SAD!!! Someone needs.......to be charged in that dear little girls murder. I hope they don't get off on some kind of technicality. And those poor dogs, living in filth, wire cages. Thank God they will now get a second chance at life, unlike the dear little girl.

| I think it's unfair to the children and all those poor dogs to give a lot of media attention to just one puppy. I'm sure the shots caused it's death. The focus should be mainly on those children right now and getting them into reputable and loving foster homes and sort out where they actually need to be if indeed any of them were stolen. Sounds like they will also need some therapy if it's true that they could have been molested. How horrible for them and what they are going to have to go thru now in order to have healing begin. Breaks my heart. |
