| ![]() Some of you might have heard my baby Lucy passed away on Monday. Some of the autopsy reports are in and it appears Lucy's liver was deformed and had a portosystemic shunt which caused a lot of problems for her. My family miss having a little one around the house. I'd like some advise as to were a good place to locate another female besides puppyfind.com. That's were I found Lucy. She was 4 months at that time and only weighed 1 lb 10 oz. She died at 9 months 10 days old and weighed 2 lbs 5 oz. She came from a very small sized family. I have to still talk to the breeder to see if she is going to give us another baby. Any ideas? |

| ![]() The YTCA is full of reputable breeders. I've also found the AKC's site for breeder classifieds to be helpful. Here are the links: http://www.ytca.org/breeder3.html http://www.akc.org/classified/search/index.cfm |

| ![]() I am so sorry to hear about Lucy. It must be just heartbreaking! It is just so hard to loose them. I have yet to get over loosing mine, though it is only slightly easier having Dennis The Menace. He is a good boy, but I miss me little girl. Maybe someone else can advise you about where to find another. So very sorry, Sue |

| ![]() I'm so sorry about your loss. Not sure if what you described is commonly known as liver shunt, which is something yorkies have sometimes but I do know it was a question suggested I ask of breeders ( if they check for liver shunt) when I was doing my search and I believe I had the vet check for it during that 24 hours return time. This is a serious, congenital condition and yorkies with it should not be bred. Common signs of liver shunt include listlessness, excessive drinking, lack of muscular coordination, poor weight gain, drooling and poor appetite. I was careful to discuss this issue with the breeders I chose before agreeing to buying a puppy. |

| ![]() I am so sorry to hear about your little Lucy. It breaks my heart to know that you also became a victim so to speak of a breeder on PuppyFind.com. I too had a baby die that I found on that site. I never got to bring him home but it ripped my heart out regardless. I am sure there are good breeders and healthy puppies to be found on that site but I personally will never look for another dog on there again. Not only did I lose Maxx but I found out that the breeder I dealt with scams people with phony pictures. I took the advice of many here on YT and found a wonderful local breeder. I fortunately was refunded my money after Maxx passed away. I would contact the breeder right away and give them the information provided by the vet and see if they will give you anything back. I would also look for a local breeder or find one of the wonderful breeders here on YT to get a baby from. Good Luck and again sorry for your loss of Lucy.

| ![]() I'm sorry to hear about Lucy :'( Did the "breeder" give a one year guarantee against genetic defects? I agree that you should look for a local breeder and go see the pups and parents before you get a new one.
