I'm so sorry about your loss. Not sure if what you described is commonly known as liver shunt, which is something yorkies have sometimes but I do know it was a question suggested I ask of breeders ( if they check for liver shunt) when I was doing my search and I believe I had the vet check for it during that 24 hours return time. This is a serious, congenital condition and yorkies with it should not be bred. Common signs of liver shunt include listlessness, excessive drinking, lack of muscular coordination, poor weight gain, drooling and poor appetite. I was careful to discuss this issue with the breeders I chose before agreeing to buying a puppy. |
