| My Yorkie is now eight weeks old. He weighs two pounds already!!! Is this abnormal for his age? How big do you guys think he will get? I was really surprised when the vet weighed him ... I thought she had made a mistake or something, lol. Do any of you guys have big Yorkies? I looked at the growth chart, but I think I must have misunderstood it, because it said full grown he should weigh six or seven pounds, but that just doesn't sound right to me! -Amy

| At eight weeks you triple the weight. He should be around 6 pounds. But with genetics you never know! But it is not anormal for this age. Your yorkie is perfectly yorkie!

| i have a 4 week old puppy right now that weighs 2 pounds... lol... ![]() it sounds like your baby is going to be jsut perfect size! but really... id wait and see cause some grow alot at first and then slow down... others start off slowly and then hit a growth spurt.

| I'm guessing about 6 lbs., if you multiply the 8 week weight by 3. My little Jake weighed 1 lb. 10 oz. at 10 weeks and is 4 1/2 lbs. full grown. Jackson was a little over 2 lbs. at 10 weeks and is 6 1/2 lbs. at 9 mos. 2 lbs. is a nice healthy weight for an 8 week old yorkie.

| I have Rocky 6years/6lbs and Rosie almost 2 and is 7lbs. Then I have Raindrop 17 wks/4days old and weighs 1lb. 11oz. Now I think a 6-7 lb is small. Raindrop will be really small. I worry a lot about her. |

Take the 12 week weight and double it. That's usually the rule of thumb, but it's just an estimate.
