| Yes, don't dress her. lol I don't leave clothes on my Trixie dog. I will dress her more often in the Winter for extra warmth, and always have a bow in her hair, but not an outfit. I do have them and like them tho'. I recently bought really cute harnesses for her that are kind of like an outfit, but with straps that don't mat as badly.

| Perhaps a good conditioner? There are leave-in conditioners that may do it.

| somewhere here on the boards- I can't remember which one - one of the storeowners said that some of their outfits had satin linings in them to cut down on matting and knots... hope that helps |

| JenCar makes a really nice silk camisole that will help prevent matting.

| You can buy outfits lined in silk, which helps a lot. I used to use my Pantene hair restorative mask on Bella and that helped some. I finally gave in and had Bella's hair cut short and now we don't have anymore matts.

| Brooke has a full coat, almost to the floor and what I do is cut her underarm and leg hair short, you can't see it underneath. That is where she got most of her matts from the armholes of the clothes. Then I brush her out completely before putting on her clothes and then completely brush her out once I take the dress off. I only put clothes on her when we are going out for an event and when we get home or in the car it comes off immediately. Also, there is a product called Cowboy Magic that is like a silicone based product that does get out any matts she gets without having to cut it out!! Hope this helps!

| i have the same problem with barbie now that her coat is growing out... i typically brush her immediately before putting the clothes on and immediately after they come off.. i spray leave in conditioner on and brush her again... it has been working for me

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sometimes when Joey wears clothes a lot, he mats under the arms so before I bath him, I use Cowboy Magic detangler. It really works well in getting out the tangles. I also use extra conditioner in this area, after shampooing and this seems to help. He hasn't matted in a long time. Here's a link that gives tips on keeping a bow in a puppy hair. Casual Way to Put Dog Bows In
