| eye color - determines texture? hey everyone! i read somwehere (when someone posted, but said wasnt quite sure how truthful it was) that if the yorkie has a blue coloring in their eyes that means their coat will be cottony/silky? (example: if you see in the photo gallery, some yorkies eyes glow a blueish color, etc.) green/gold = silky? and red - dont remember - correct me if i got the whole color meaning wrong if there is any truth to that. please and thank you

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Puppies will have a blue eye shine, silky coats will have a green eye shine and soft/cottony coats will have more of an amber eye shine. YorkieRose on here knows more about this and could explain it much better than I, hopefully she will see this and reply.

| I would be really intersted in this too. I have heard of this before but i forgot what the colors mean. Bentley is cotton and his eyes reflect red. Louie is only 20wks old and his eyes reflect green, but I can't tell what his adult coat will be yet.

| Ruby never takes a picture that her eyes don't turn out red... is this the same thing? Her coat is thick silky.

| I have heard this several times but I don't believe it to be accurate. I have several pictures taken of the same dog where their eye shine is green one time and yellow or orange another. Only thing changed was the lighting or angle the picture was taken. I have noticed one thing though, I have never had their eyes shine red before, only my non yorkies such as my cocker spaniel.

| I think this is true.. There have been threads on here before about this. Bailey's eyes show green with the flash and he has a silky coat. I think the red eyes are the cottony coat.
