Well i actually think the big yorkies are really cute! i love their size, sturdiness and look. My Teddy is probably just shy of 7 lbs. the lady across the street has a very small female. so i know they really vary in size. Tell your mom its ok, and let her check out some pics of the yorkies on here and she will see how diverse they look! |

bigger yorkie Hi there. I have my first baby girl yorkie Gigi and shes now almost 8 months and weighs 7.8 lbs. Just went to the vet the other day for comfortis thats how i know what she weighs lol. Anyway my bf was teasing me about her being a mixed breed not that i or he really care but i was like ummm no shes a full on yorkie. So dont get bummed about it who cares anyway when u come home and u have a warm fuzzy friend to curl up with. :) |
My Prada is all yorkie, she has floppy ears which i LOVE, a thick cotton coat and all 13 pounds of her, she is completly off standard she is also AKC registered and all yorkie, she is lovely and more to love, yorkies are very special.. hugs, |
When I last weighed my Yorkie Joe, he was around 11 pounds- but he was pretty round and probably weighed even more when he first came to us lol I made it a point to take him on plenty of walks, now I can see a the beginnings of a waist on him :) I had my doubts when I first got him about his ancestry- working in vet clinic for several years, almost all the Yorkies I've seen have been smaller than him, from 4-8 pounds, and his coat is quite thick, almost woolly, but I've since learned that that is just one of the variations of breed. His ears, especially the right, look like they want to stand up but never had the chance- when he first came to us his ears were covered in long hair, which I immediately clipped off lol I wonder if the previous owners never clipped the hair off when he was little and they got weighted down? |
My yorkie weighed in at 11 lbs at his last visit. |
