| Bad to leave him home? I posted below we are getting a puppy from a breeder. We were going to wait until June 6th to pick him up, because I am a teacher and am out June 12th. BUT now we want to get him now, because we can't wait any longer! : ) Would it be bad to get him now, knowing he would be home alone from 7ish to around 4:30 for a few weeks? I would have my mom stop in twice to let him out and play, and it's only for 4 weeks. What do you think? |

| I think if someone is definitely going to be able to stop home and check on him then why not! I know I wouldn't be able to wait!!!!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Nothing wrong with that if he is the right age to leave the litter. He will be lucky that he will get checked in on twice a day. You can also get an xpen and set him up with his food and pee pad area and he is good to go.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | It will be fine since your having someone check in on him. Get the xpen so he has room to play, eat, poop and sleep while your gone and he will be safe.

| Oooo thats a tough one because I know how exciting it is. BUT I remember being soooo tired the first 2 weeks I had Jamie because I wasn't used to having to get up in the middle of the night to a crying puppy and having to take him out to potty. I also remember crying all the way to work for the first couple of mornings when I had to leave him (because he makes such a cute pouty face and whimpers when he's not happy ). So if you're prepared for long nights with him and longer days at work along with some tears, then I think bringing him home right now would be fine. Otherwise I think I would get work out of the way first and then be able to spend ALL of my time with him.

| Awww... he's a cutie The DH stayed w/ Meka til' she was about that age. By 12 wks, she was home alone in a pen w/ toys, food & water. I also kept the TV on for her as well... At that age, they pretty much sleep most of the time...so I think your baby will be ok

| Oh what a doll! I'd want him home as well. I tried to get my first yorkie earlier than 12 weeks because I was going to be home after an operation. But she wisely said to wait. But yours is 12 weeks. And not that long you'll be home - wow lucky you! Being checked 2x during the day is good. You will be tired in the mornings, because you have to get up in the middle of the night. Good luck! |

| I thought you are not supposed to keep them alone for more than 4 hours at this age without going out. |
