| ![]() I like the coloring and the face on the 2nd puppy. When I went to see Lulu at the breeder's she came right over to me and sat on my lap. That was it for me!!

| ![]() When I went to buy my first yorkie, there were two to choose from. There was a little calm boy, and a very active boy. I chose the calm one, and my mom got the active one. They were both wonderful dogs. Gizmo was the most lovable dog I've ever owned. He was a HUGE mama's boy. My mom's boy is also a momma's boy but LOVES to play fetch ALL DAY!! He NEVER gets tired! So, I guess it depends what you're looking for... but I'm so glad I chose the "calm" one. |

| ![]() When we were looking for our first yorkie, I went to see the litter by myself because my husband had to go out of town. I stayed at the breeder's house for about two hours pondering my decision!! There were two girls and one boy. I wanted a girl so that narrowed it down to two. Jaya's sister was very outgoing, outspoken, and very attached to the mother. Jaya would go to the mom, and her sister would push her away and hog the mom. The mom was also more drawn to the other girl. Jaya would just sit there by herself in the corner closest to me, very quietly. She had a patch of hair missing because the others in the litter bullied her as she was the smallest. She was more interested in me while the other one was more interested in the mom. The sister was much cuter than Jaya..she had a much cuter face, and she had a silky coat while Jaya had a cotton coat. She was also estimated to be 4 lbs while Jaya was estimated to be 3 lbs. The breeder showed me the father and told me that Jaya would look exactly like the dad. Jaya also had darker coloring. The breeder also asked me how I would groom her as an adult.. because I wanted to keep my yorkie in a puppycut, she suggested that the pup with the cotton coat would suit that type of cut rather than the silky coated pup. At the time, what it came down to was that Jaya had the quiet, serene, personality - she was independent, and she was more drawn to me than the other female. In addition, she had the type of coat that would suit the grooming methods I was interested in, as well as the correct coloring. I totally made the right decision... she was exactly what we needed for a first-time dog owner...very independent and loyal. When we went to look at Jenna, my husband chose her. His reasoning was simply that she wouldnt leave him alone..... it was a five minute decision. She turned out to be totally different .... very affectionate and hyper and loud and outgoing... she was wonderful. |

| ![]() I just recently had to choose between 2 black lab puppies, they both looked almost exactly the same but my deciding factor was based on which one was more submissive to me. I layed them both on their back and chose the one who put up it easier. It's really hard when there isn't a definite choice in looks that sets one from the other.

| ![]() def' the 2nd puppy (2nd photo) - but personality wise i like the "bully" type, because the one who was crying when away from its brother - might has a seperation anxiety. but i could be wrong. just go with your gut. the one that takes your breath away. or let the dog choose you. ![]() |

aww they both sound cute!! quick question about their coats and hair cuts - when i get my yorkie, i want to keep it with a short cut (not long hair to the ground) - but you said the cut would look better on Jaya since her coat isnt silky. but now that you have Jenna, how do you guys have her hair? long - and if you guys cut it - does it look just as good as Jaya? please and thank you ![]() ooh and how old were they when you first got them - because if they're weeks and you got them when they were that young - then it is possible to tell what type of coat theyll have then? | |

| ![]() REally that is a bad pic of number #1. I am making him look bad ![]() Here is a not so good pic I took of them. #2 is the shy one. I never thought this would be such a bad decision. I may just tell the breeder to decide. |

| ![]() Well Teddi was the only one when I got her but I LOVED when I got Cassie (my standard poodle). I got her from a breeder in Colorado and she told me that she doesn't let people pick. She finds out what you are looking for in a dog and she said she has raised them so she knows their personalities (sign of a good breeder because she actually had one litter at a time and knows all the pups). She said when she used to let people choose and they would just choose the one that came to them or something like that. She now asks what you are looking for i.e. do you want a dog that is a good guard dog - she knows which one runs to the door barking first or do you want a dog that can rough-house with your kids - she knows which one jumps on top of the other ones and likes to wrestle. I told her I wanted a non-dominate female. She said "I know just the one, she lets all the other dogs eat first and then she eats." I got EXACTLY what I wanted.

| ![]() From your first posts & descriptions, I was thinking the calmer pup and then when I saw the pic....it confirmed my decision....I would pick pup #2. Just because he cried when you were there doesn't mean that he will continue to do that. He is just a little tyke and was probably overwhelmed and a bit scared. That is my gut instinct. My little pup is the more timid pup but he is definitely outgoing and very personable now. He was in a puppy class with another yorkie that was the more dominant and bullying type and I was so happy to have my pup because he listens and wants to please me. I watched the trainer with the other yorkie at the puppy class and she was so feisty, she fought her mom and the trainer on everything. But the owner loved her of course....she just wouldn't have been a good match for me because I'm more mello and kick back. Who is going to be taking care of the pup the majority of the time...you or your husband? Is there a chance that you can go back for another visit to interact with the pups one more time before you choose? ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Pick one that suits your personality the best I would say. If it was me (but it isn't hehe), I will pick #2. When I went to see my yorkie, he was the only one but I can see his personality. He was a little shy, a little (very little) timid but I know that being with me, he will grow in confidence and flourish and I was right. When they go to a home full of love, they will turn out great and I don't have trouble toning him down coz he is pretty mellow himself, very easy to control heehee. Put it that way, I have a passive personality and I chose a passive pup coz I can understand him easily that way. My hubby who is more outgoing and hyper finds my yorkie too sucky but I am the one who takes care of him and spends most time with him. That being said, my sister who wanted a maltese puppy brought me along to choose a puppy with her and she wanted a more playful and crazy outgoing one not to mention a little hyper and we chose the most playful one. We chose one that is on the extreme end of hyperness and naughtyness :P. She got returned once because the owner couldn't handle her personality. She is a handful, very naughty and very very vocal but her personality goes with my sister's personality and they make a happy two ![]() ![]()

| ![]() That's the million dollar question, isn't it! When we got Wrigley, we had the choice of two. We thought we only had one, but something happened and Wrigley was also available. She was the smaller of the two and she was more laid back and quiet. The other one kept jumping at us and nibbling like puppies do. I've heard people say that the quiet, timid ones can turnout to be more nervous, shy around people and strangers. I have to say with Wrigley that is true, it takes her a long time to warm up to people! She is also loving and a lap dog all the way! I wish I knew who ended up with the other little girl, I've always been curious what her personality turned out like! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade her for the world! I think it's a toss up if you are really that torn about it! Good luck with your choice!
