| How old to get a new yorkie puppy I have been wanting to get a yorkie for quite some time now and have thought about it a lot- and I have decided YES! I am going to get a wonderful companion hopefully by mid-June (if there are any breeders out there in the Southern California area with puppies ready by June *wink) I was looking around and saw that there were available puppies from 10 weeks to about 4 months. I wanted to know what age range is good to bring a puppy home? an age where bonding and etc is at the most influential time? any input would be wonderful and appreciated! Thank you! | Yep, I agree 12 weeks. Post pictures of your new baby when you get him/her.

| I agree that it shouldn't be younger than 12 wks but I think at any age, be it 12 wks, 6mths or 2 yrs, if you spend time with dog and show them love and affection, the bond will be there. Alot of people have a wonderful bond with seniors that have been rescued

| I agree because I got Rickles when he was 4 years old and I was his 6th owner and he didn't even know his name so I changed it. I have had him 4 years and he loves me to death just as I love him. I don't take a move in the house that he doesn't take it with me. I have a puppy Gleason under a year old and we are very much bonded too. I think the bond come when you show your love for them. |

| ah that is what i was thinking. i was just wondering if there are any "set" characteristics or if it is harder to deal with a puppy at 4-5 months than with a puppy that is 2-3 months. thanks again! input welcomed! By june i will be able to spend 24/7 with my puppy (when i find him!) for a long long time- so it seemed ideal to pair up with one in june. I am going to see some breeders this weekend! :: When i get my baby i will definitely post pictures; did i get too ahead of myself? i already made a dog tag with his name "wookie" |

| Hello and welcome My girlfriend prefers to get her puppies at 4-5 months. Just her preference. I've not seen any downside to getting one a bit older.
