| House training Welcome! I too am a new yorkie owner. I have had a lot of dogs in my life and I have to say Rambeau has been the easiest to house train. He has been the easiest to train all around. I didn't have to really do anything. Naturally he doesn't want pee to soak his feet so he chose going in the lawn versus a wood floor. Within 2 weeks he was standing at the door when he had to go and would come running when he was done because there is always a celebration. Same with coming to his name, I didn't have to do anything except act like the greatest thing in the world has happened and he was the one who did it. He has always naturally walked on a leash as long as we use a halter. The biggest challenge is 'sitting', he's so short I can't tell if he has accomplished it. For house training I have never used pee pads if they have easy access to the outdoors. It seems to me it is reinforcing going inside instead of outside. |

| I love Dublin! What a great place to live. Chester sounds like a great little man. Best wishes in raising and training him.
