| OK family all the red flags are there I met this lady in Pet Smart buying a huge amount of dog food. I had Mika with me and the lady said she was a breeder of yorkies (FINALLY one in MEMPHIS), and believe it or not her sister is also a breeder and lives two blocks down the street from me. As you know I am doing my pre research to get my own baby, and this is tooooooooooooo good.....too good to be true. Here is what I have learned since. 1. Sister #1 (one I met in Pet Smart) sells yorkies AND poms. 2. Sister #2 (one down the street) sells yorkies AND Westies. 3. They set up pens on pretty days outside the On the Border restaurant and sell their puppies to people on the street (no screening). 4. They sell yorkie mixes as well. Are red flags going off with you?

| I would have to do some more investigating, but I probably wouldn't take the chance. Sorry.

| It's the reverse that bothers me, how can the breeder get any sense as to whom they are selling TO under these circumstances????

| The breeders couldn't care less who they sell to, as long as they get the $$$$. That's sad...you end up with people that don't understand the breed and probably won't take care of them the way they need to be taken care of. To these people, they've just bought a "puppy" not a specific breed.

| I think puppy street buying is an emotional purchase of opportunity. In some rare cases people may have been looking for a certain breed and stumbled up on the street seller by accident...but mostly they are just too cute to resist and the kids and playing with them and whining, and bam they end up going home with them.

| Parking lot sales has been banned in my county. Of course, now it needs to be enforced because it only lasted for a few months and they're back out.
