I just wanted to say hi to everyone

I've always wanted a yorkie since I was a little girl and now that I'm graduating college, my mother is FINALLY allowing me to get one (as a graduation present!!) We want to do this the right way and learn everything we need to know.We hope to purchase a beauutiful little girl from a reputable breeder that we can spoil

I live in CT and I'm having trouble finding a breeder, so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. Anyways, great site and I will let everyone know how my search is going!!

Hello and welcome to Y.T.!....You came to the right [place to start your search on yorkie info....The YTCA is a good place to start looking for a breeder, but it in no way is a guarantee , you still have to ask questions

Welcome to YT, and congratulations on your graduation. I don't have any breeder recommendations, but the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America has some guidelines for breeders that you'd be wise to be aware of. I'm referring mainly to the code of ethics and code of conduct, but there's lots of good information here.

LOL, how creepy is that? We had the same recommendation at the exact same time. We were both posting at the same time.

I Too Am Fairly New To The Site And To Owning A Yorkie. You Have Found A Great Place For Knowledge And Support When/if Something Goes Wron. They Also Have The Funniest Conversation That You Learn From Too. Ie:someone Asked Yesterday If Yorkies Have A Bellybutton? I About Died Laughing As I Read But I Also Learned That They Do Even If You Can't Readily See It. If You Read Through The Site You Will Learn Who Knows There Stuff And Who's Guessing. You Will Find Your Favoriye That You Will Ask After Awhile. With That Said Alaskayorkie Has Never Lead Me Astray. Have Fun And Welcome To The Site! Tonya-antioch, Ca

Oh, I see...I guess you'll be getting your buns to bed.....I've been awake since 2:30 a.m. so I thought I would do something special for my DH before he left for work........So I fixed him breakfast

Welcome to AYorkieTalk and congratulations on graduating from college. What an accomplishment!

There are many fantastic breeders here at YT, both those who are YTCA members and those who are not. My best advice is to do your homework - once you find the breeder(s) you want to work with, then start checking references and sure that the breeder you settle on will allow you to talk with their vet and that the vet had authorization to discuss the breeder's dogs with you. Vets are obligated to tell the truth and what better way to find out the health conditions of the breeder's dogs and testing that has been done, than to talk with their health care professional.

Compile a list of questions to take with you to use when you actually start "Puppy Shopping" .
