Hi and Welcome! We're neighbors! sort of. I am from the Eastern Shore but go to Bowietown Center all the time. Congratulations on your little girl. When do you get her?

I piked out the name Zoe a year ago. The funny thing is my little girls' mom's name is Zoe. The breeder thought it was very funny.

Yes there is and I am so grateful to have found this site with so many knowledgeable people. Zoe will be coming home at around 9 weeks old.

Please post a picture of your new baby. Did you get a boy or girl and what name have you picked? I miss the baby days although Gretel is 14 mo -she is still a spoiled rotten baby-just bigger at 3 lbs. I miss carrying her around in my shirt though! Is this your first yorkie? if so you will get lots of support and information here. I was not a dog lover until I got Gretel-now I love yorkies. She is super sweet & a total lover of everyone. She ran out in the yard the other day to meet a passing leashed german shepard. She has no fear because all she has ever known is affection. It scared me and the owner of the other dog though....thank goodness the other dog thought she was as cute as she does! let me know if you have any questions, you will be hypervigilant after your baby comes home.

I love the name Zoe, and had intended to use that for my new yorkie, but I got a boy instead, so I named him Joey, which turn out to be the breeders's husband and son's name. Anyway, welcome to Yorkietalk!

Looks like you and I both get to play the waiting game. I too am bringing my new little girl home next month. Her name is Friday.
I bet you are really excited too. I get to spoil her rotten for 3 months before she starts her official show training.

I only have a few things to get ready before my little girl comes home. I have been keeping busy with work of course and I also have been sewing like mad. I am making dresses for her and for my other little girl Maggie plus I have alot to make for Yorkie Fair this year. Gonna give selling a try. Then there is obedience training for one of my boys and then come home and train the other one, Getting the Yorkies room finished, and doing even more research into breeding but more on the genetics side of it, and now I start my research and learning for getting into the show ring. I have a couple friends that doing the whole bit of breeding and showing so that helps. My goal with the showing is to try to get Friday her championship before we think about breeding her. But that all depends on if she is small enough to show but big enough to breed and most importantly that she has good test results form the vet. When do you get to bring Zoe home?

Welcome, you are so lucky to find this sight before you got your baby. I wish I would have! Not that I'm not happy with my baby I am so very happy with him. But I was lucky that nothing was wrong with him. I got him too young and from a back yard breeder. My next baby will be from someone on here!

I don't know of any out your way, my groomer is on the Eastern Shore. We'll have to meet up one day after you get your little girl. Was your breeder local? Hot Rod loves meeting buddies!
