| The scare of my life Ok so I cook a lot and have very little accidents........not today. A grease fire got a little out of control. When it first happened I should have thought to throw flour on it but it was big enough I just freaked and called for hubby. I burnt my hand. I went for the door to let out some of the smoke and Hubby told me to call 911. I did but got disconnected not once not twice but THREE times!. I opened the door then my next instinct was to rush for the babies. I found ANdy cause he was right next to me at the door I grabbed him and shouted for stormy while telling hubby to throw flour on the fire which he moved from the stove to our floor. I couldnt find her! He then finally put it out and dropped to the floor and crawled to the door. The smoke was so black you couldnt see. I then rushed in caling for her and rushing to open to windows. I was looking and calling all over the place. Finally the smoked cleared enough Hubby came back into the house. He looked for her while I held Andy outside the door. He came back out by then I had tied Andy up outside. He went looking around the building incase she had gotten by. I could think about was all that smoke in those little bitty lungs. I kept picturing her laying somewhere dead. Or loose and never to be found again. I tore my whole house apart. Then suddenly right behind the front door we have a lil computer table with a stool that fits under te table. I barely glanced under there and then turned back when I caught a glimpse of her hair. I yanked the stool out and grabbed up crying more then I was before from pure relief that she was ok. SHe just looked alittle scared. The house is fine except where hubby dropped the pan so we have to replace the flooring but we are just thankful the babies and us and most our belongings are safe and unharmed. (except my hand which will heal in a few days) Like I said. This whole event was the scare of my life. I was so scared for stormy. |

| That sounds terrible! I'm glad to hear you and you family are OK. I would be soooo scared. Take care of that hand! Vitamin E might help with any scarring.

| I did go crazy looking for her! I was crying tearing stuff apart trying to think where a 2 pound dog go get behind. I would have died if the fire had gotten worse trying to find her. But she is my baby and I wasnt about to let anything happen to her! I was so scared. You guys have no idea. Hubby's Dad is coming down to replace the floor. So it really wont be too bad.
