| My poor baby OMG i cant stop crying I had just wrote a thread ''So close'' about bailey an him gettin his hair cut at the groomers 2day and him doing so well with his potty training, so i'm reading through it after i post it when i hear a sucking sound i turn around to look in leahs bed where bailey and leah was sleeping i see bailey he looked like he was trying to bite leahs ear, i said ''Bailey NO'' but he didnt listen i looked closer and his body was all stiff i screamed OMG and picked him up he was all stiff jerking about. He was foaming from the mouth i burst out crying!! I ran with him to the phone an put him on the floor to phone the vet i was frantic by now. he started to come around after like 2 mins he woke up and didnt seem to know where he was. I was crying which did not help at all i just didnt know what to do i thought he was gonna die. He couldnt walk and his head was twitching as he was trying to come round from it.. i have never been more upset an scared in my life!! I took him the vet right away which is a 1min car ride and they said he seemed fine. He has been the groomers 2day so it might have been something in the shampoo which i'm checking out ... or might be his liver so he is going in next week for blood tests i am so glad he is ok but i dont want to take my eyes off him as am scared it might happen again.. everytime i think about it i start to cry. Has anyone else has this happen . if so what was it, the vet said it might be a one off and i am hoping it is, i am just so scared

| I am so sorry, you must be scared to death. Are they going to do a complete blood screen? They should, just to reassure you if for no other reason. Is it possible the groomer gave him something to keep him calm during grooming? He may have hada reaction to that. I will keep you in my prayers, keep us up on the news.

| Sounds like it was a seizure ... I would call the groomer and ask for the brands and names of the products they used as well as any type of medication they may have given him ... not like mean or saying anything happened there ... It could also be low blood sugar and over-excitement ...

| Oh big hugs Natasha & Bailey. My little Pom had a little fit, which sounds just like this, she only had the one in the 15 years we had her, she had this one off, after we got her home from being spayed. Thinking of you both Natasha and hope little Bailey has no more.

| I'm so sorry this happened to your little sweetie. It sounds like a seizure to me also. I hope it is a one time thing and I will pray for that. I didn't see your thread about the grooming. I will have to look for that. Best wishes to you and Bailey. *HUG*

| Please be careful I am so sorry to hear about your baby. I would reccomend all the test they can run. We just lost my brothers baby 2 weeks ago from a sever liver shunt. They said her little liver was wrapped like 5 times in blood vessels. She was only 3 years old. We tried hard to help her, even had 2 surgeries performed one the day before she passed, trying to help her liver. There was so much damage tho that one of her kidneys had turned almost stone like, because it had died. That poor baby. We had test run, but only the ones our vet reccomended. He missed how bad she really was. Please be careful, and my prayers are with you. Good luck to you and your baby.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | poor little guy I wonder can't a vet check his sugar.Like a finger stick is what we do in the doctors ofiice, to read the sugar level in a pt . I read a lot about that hypoglycemic. It also sound like some type of seizure. Does your groomer give him meds prior to grooming? I would call them and find out if they gave him something. do they feed him while he's there? It's so scary when they have something happen for the first time. I hope he's feeling better soon. |

| Seizure Yeah that DEFINITELY sounds like a seizure. My mother has gotten a few of those and those are all the symptoms. Shaking.. foaming at the mouth, confusion afterwards. I wonder if your baby will be put on medication for that. Anyway i hope he feels better soon and sending much love from me and My baby Oscar to you and Bailey! |
