| So my dad is trying to help me in my yorkie search... He calls today asking me what type of dog I wanted because he couldn't remember, so I remind him. He tells me he was in Penn. earlier today and he and a friend stopped at a "dog farm" where they were selling dogs starting at $450. So I ask him did the "farm" have a bunch of cages out back with a bunch of dogs and he says yes. I say thanks but no thanks. Don't want one of those. He can't understadn why. I tried to explian to him that the farm sounds like nothing more than a puppy mill, but of course, he doesn't know what that means. I attempt to explain it to him, but "father knows everything" Long story short I tell him please don't waste his money because I don't want that puppy mill puppy and I'm already working with a breeder. I've decided that if he persists, I'll give him my list of questions for breeders or take the ride with him so he can see how quickly things turn around! LOL! |

| Thanks to YT!!! I attribute all of my knowledge to YT. I probably would've bought a puppy from a pet store if I hadn't stumbled on the site while I was searching the net for info on Yorkies and pet stores in area that carried them. Thankfully, I know better now. |

| Good for you! Maybe you can show your dad what a puppy mill is like by looking info up on the internet for him. There's tons of info on this site, as you already know. We just have to keep trying to get the word out and get people to understand, which is what you're doing! Great job!

| Good for you. Bless your daddy's heart - it did sound like he was trying to help. Maybe with time and patience you can explain it to him and he will understand. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so glad you found Yt before ending up with a potentially sick puppy. That's sweet your Dad is trying.

| no :( Did you have any luck with the breeders list I gave you? Unfortunately, no. A couple responded but won't have any babies this summer. The others, I e-mailed and never heard from. Maybe I'll try calling this weekend. Although I think I may stick with the girl I found in PA. I've been corresponding with the breeder and she seems ok. I plan on visiting really soon, though I was hoping to find someone a bit closer. |
