| wireless fences... I have a very large yard that Fergie just loves to run in. My only problem is there are woods behind it and she is becoming very curious to find out what's in those woods. A fence would be very expensive and I hate to keep her on her leash all of the time. Is she big enough for a wireless fence? She's almost 5lbs. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

| Bumping this for you. Maybe you could talk to a representative of a wireless fence company.

| The collar she would have to wear is a bit much for a tiny little one, not to mention getting zapped if she tries to cross over the boundry. It won't keep other animals from comming in your yard. Couldn't you just put up a fence in a small area? |

| The only reason why I didn't go with a wireless fence was because even though our furbabies can't get out, other animals CAN get in to get our furbabies. That to me is so....scary. But you have to know what's best for your situation. Good Luck in deciding.

| I personally wouldn't do one, I think the zap would be too much. And the animals coming into your yard brings up another scare as well.

| I wouldn't use one on my yorkies or my schnauzer but When we gave our rotty to my mom she put one of these fences up I was not too happy but she was no longer my dog and I didn't have any say she just didn't want her getting out of the fence and someone saying she bit them. She only got zapped by it one time to learn not to go into that area it actually makes a popping noise before she gets too close and it zaps her. They had it set on a low setting and my dad got to try it out by accident before he put the collar on her. She only wore it about a month and no longer wears it she stays away from the fence and in the yard.

| My mom had a dog that was a lab germain sheppered mix and she would climb the fence and when they fixed it she would then dig holes and get out that was so they got one of those electric fences and she would take the shock few times and other times she would wear it out with the warning beep and then the battery would die so she would then dig out and its was expensive to replace the batters every month. Also I would be worried about other animals being able to get to her.
