| :icon5: What should i do? I am usually pretty quite and don't post a lot....But I have a decision to make. I have 2 yorkie girls ages 4 and 2 1/2. My youngest Mia is 4.3 pounds and a very healthy girl. The lady I bought her from has one pair of dogs that she breeds and the puppies are home raised. I have become friends with her and we e-mail regularly. She has a new litter with a very small baby girl that she has offered to sell me for a very special price ($800). At 7 weeks old this baby weighs 6.6 ounces. i would love to have her, but I worry that my other girls will be jealous. Also what if she isn't healthy being so small. What does everyone think. opinions....help please!

| I wouldn't be that worried about jealousy but I would be concerned about how small she is at seven weeks. It might be she is just tiny but it could also be something very serious such as liver shunt. What will the breeder cover in the health guarantee? When does she want you to take her? If it were me, I would feel much better if she stayed with the breeder for a couple of more months, to make sure she is thriving.

| Have the breeder test her for liver shunt before you decide on her. I have 2 tiny girls, one chihuahua 3 lbs. and Brooke is 3.8 lbs and they were quite tiny when they were infants. They just take more time to raise since they need to eat more. Bitsy had to be fed every 3 hours, 2 times a night at 2am and 5am, which went on until she was 5 months old!! Now she is just as healthy as her larger brothers and sisters!! Good luck with your decision but I love the little ones!!

| The breeder is going to keep her with her mom until she is closer to a pound and a half and quite a bit older. She is gaining about an ounce a week now and eating food and will be vet checked and tested. The reason they really want me to have her is because I have one of their babies from a previous litter and they know that I will take good care of her. I have only seen pictures because I know that if I see her it will be hard to not take her. This has been very tempting, because I know she will be a special and she is a sibling to my Mia. My friend does not breed for tiny babies this one just happened. Her mom is 7 to 8 pounds and the daddy is around 5 or 6. My girl was the runt of her litter and has been very healthy, just small and tiny boned. Thanks for your help.

| I would definately keep my eyes and heart wide open. It sounds like the breeder is doing all she can to assure you that this new wee one is healthy before she leaves. My advice would be -- if all the tests come pack indicating that this wee little one is healthy -- follow your heart and do what your instincts tell you. GOOD LUCK -- please post pics when you can! |

| I would want some kind of a health guarantee and want her to be checked over throughly before I got her. If she is healthy and you want her go for it! When do we get to see pics?
