| Thanks to everyone who welcomed me! A little about my babies! So many of you asked me about my babies so here goes: Well It all started about four years ago when I got my first Yorkie. I didnt know much about the breed except what I had read in a book I'd purchased and fell in love with Austin oh so quickly. When Austin was three months old he had a seizure and aspirated, he clung on to life at the vets office over night but died the next morning. I was devistated. He was the best little thing. I was aprehensive for months but needed to fill this void I had in my heart so after about seven months I got Ryder. Whom I believe today is exactly who Austin would have wanted me to have because they look alike and have many qualities alike. I was so pleased with Ryder, Yes he was hard to potty train and I still dont let him roam in the house when Im "gone" I baby gate off my kitchen and he has a bed and stays in there until I come home. I just had to be really diligent in taking him outside every two hours and when he would go outside I would give him a treat and say "Good potty outside" When he has an accident inside I say "Bad dog! Potty outside!" (This is for the potty training question) This Christmas my fiance brought me a 13 month old male who had lived outside his whole life and I tried and tried to potty train him he just kept marking his territory so I made him live outside during the day and inside in a pet taxi at night. He still gets a lot of attention. I named him Ruger. Well on Monday the people who my fiance got Ruger from called and told us they were going out of the breeding business and wanted to know if I would be interested in taking for free a 2 year old female. Of course I was, so I went and got her and thats how I ended up with Cup Cake. She also is used to living outside so they play outside all day and come in at night to sleep in their pet taxis. I feel really bad for Ruger and CupCake because you can tell before I got them they really havent had a lot of hands on attention. The breeders had five pairs and I just feel as if they didnt pay much attention to them one on one. Cup Cake has already done a complete 360 since she has been here. I was really worried when I got her because she was not interested in me touching her at all! But now she comes and sits in my lap and loves the attention..Im just waiting for her hair to grow out because right now she has an awful hair cut! Cup cake was in heat when I got her so Ruger and Cup Cake should be having little ones in the next 61 days! YEAH! Tell me more about your little ones! |

| Mjjs, Thank you for sharing your story. Sounds like you have your hands full. I have heard it is hard to house train a yorkie when they are older. You have your work cut out for you. I have two males and two females I occasionally breed. I too have a litter coming. She is due around May 16-21. I cant wait. She started showing last week when she was only 4 weeks old. I dont know if that means she may have a large litter. I hope not since she is only 5.2 lbs. It will be Lacey's and Tigers first litter. I know they will be just too beautiful, as will yours. Keep in touch to let us know if she is trully expecting pups. I am new to this web site. I am so excited to be a part of it. I have been tracking a couple of forums this morning on mommas having babies. All the support is wonderful. I will be looking for support when it is time for Lacey to have her babies. I have 6 yorkies, two are our older males and are fixed since they are larger babies 10 & 12 lbs. They rule the roost around her. We have had them all since pups. They are all house trained but... like you I dont trust them. As I say out of site out of mind. So I too have baby gates up. They are not allowed in the back part of the house except at night when it is time for bed. Again Thank you for sharing your story. I hope we can keep in touch. Sue
