Rylie fell off the couch I left the house for a little over an hour, and when I got back Lacy was waiting for me at the door...which normally they both are. My couch is in front of two big windows in the living room..and backs up right to the window sills (which are just right above the floor). I could see and hear the blinds moving, and I realized Rylie had fallen off the couch on to the window sills and couldn't get out! I ran over there and pulled him up...I was so afraid he had hurt himself and wasn't sure how long he'd been down there. Luckily he was fine! Lacy fell off the couch once like that too but I was home and pulled her back up and she was fine. I swear...these babies can scare you to death. Luckily, neither one were hurt. |
Oh, Michele, scary! So glad he is okay. Ya know, no matter how much you "proof" your house, there will always be stuff like this, it seems. But it is so scary, I know. Hugs to the gang. |
Sorry to hear that...Im glad he is okay!!!!! |
They make us a nervous wreck, don't they! So glad Rylie is all right. |
They're so fragile - simple little spills can scare you to death! Glad Rylie is fine! Extra smooches tonight. |
Glad Rylie is okay! We've had instances of falling off the bed and couch too, gave us quite a scare each time! Good thing Rylie is a tough cookie! |
I am so glad Rylie is okay. A coworker of mine has a toy poodle. She had gone out and when she returned home, her dog was shaking and crying. She took him to the vet and they gave him pain pills. They guessed that he was waiting for her to come home, looking out the window from the back of the couch, and fell. He was fine the next day. Conner always gets on the back of the couch to look at who is outside. When he barks, his whole body moves and I am always afraid he will fall. So far (knock on wood) we have had no accidents. |
Oh no!! Glad Rylie is okay!! I know that must have given you a scare.. They really do make us a nervous wreck!! Big hugs to Rylie. |
Oh my gosh Michele...this is too weird! The SAME exact thing happened to Stedman about 2 days ago. Hubby and I left the house for about an hour also and when we were walking up to the door to come inside, we could hear Stedman barking (that's normal lol) - but usually he and Tatum are both standing at the door waiting to greet us when we walk in. Well, we got inside and Tatum was there but no Stedman  We still heard him barking and we were looking everywhere for him but couldn't find him. Well my couch is sort of catty-corner in the living room with a big window behind it and Stedman always lays on the back of the couch (and he walks on it too - like he is walking the plank ) well obviously he had fallen back there and there was absolutely no way for him to get out :( The poor little guy! I bet Tatum was freaking out too because she couldn't get to her brother, lol. I'm sure Stedman thought that mommy and daddy were never going to rescue him! Poor thing...I felt sooo awful! Luckily though, he wasn't hurt at all! WHEW. Thank God Rylie is ok too! These babies can really scare the heck out of you, that's for sure! :( |
I am glad Rylie is okay! |
You just never know what they are going to do next, I"m so glad he is okay:) |
This happen to Joey before, but I was home. He too was wedged between couch and window, he wasn't hurt either, but sure gave us a scare. I worry so much when we are gone. I know many people keep them in their kennel/crate when they're gone, but I haven't been able to do that yet. Glad he's ok. |
I'm glad he is okay! |
Glad he's okay! Our babies are all lil daredevils! |
I am so glad he is ok!!! yep...the sure know how to scare the snot out of us!!! |
Glad to hear Rylie is doing okay! Poor little guy! |
Yikes! I'm so glad Rylie is okay and you weren't gone for too long! |
Oh my! Thank God he's ok. I know what you mean about how they're so capable of putting us in cardiac arrest... |
I'm so glad that Rylie is ok. On a positive note hopefully he won't do it again since he fell this time. |
So glad he's okay!!! It only takes 1 second. I remember when Teddy fell off the couch once, he is bigger so i dont worry as much but i was in the room and i heard a thump in the living room and then a long whine and i ran in there and he couldn't get up. He was shocked i guess, poor thing. But yea its crazy how fast it happens |

BLess his little heart! Glad he's alright! |
i think everyone will go grey early because we own yorkies lol. |
Adie has done that TWICE! She liked to lay on the back of the couch and take a nap. Both times she ended up rolling over in her sleep and off she went It is a wonder she wasn't hurt. Her little face was so cute though, she looked so bewildered. She doesn't nap up there much anymore LOL. |
Oh what a scare! I'm so glad he is ok and didn't come to any harm. Pixie is in her crate when i'm out..she's so little..it's peace of mind for me to know she is somewhere safe and can't get up to anything! |
Glad everything is fine. Good thing mommy was there to help the babies out of a sticky situation. |
Wow! So glad Rylie is okay! Poor baby! Tucker will jump off anything and he scares me to death all the time! |
It must be difficult for those of you that have yorkies that can jump on/off furniture by themselves...My Pixie is too small to jump up on furniture..although i'm pretty sure if she could she would! when i lift her up onto my sofa next to me on the cushion that she has claimed as her own:rolleyes:..I have to watch her like a hawk in case she decides she wants down...i'm pretty sure if she did she would break a leg or something:( |
Awww poor Rylie. He must have been so frightened not being able to get out. I bet he was so happy to hear you come in the house. I hope he was not back there for long. Maybe he will be afraid to go back up there for awhile. These little buggers seem to remember things like that. |
