Question for Revolution Users What type of worm prevention are you using along with the Revolution? Revolution doesn't kill roundworms or whipworms. I was using Advantage and Interceptor for worm control and fleas, but decided to try Revolution this month. Thanks!

| We too use Revolution. And nothing else. But if we go to the vet tomarrow for Luig's leg, then I will ask my vet that question too.

We use Revolution on both of our dogs and that's it. I talked to my vet about flea control/heart worm prevention and that's what he recommended. Nothing else. Do you need other work prevention? Even with adult dogs?

We don't use anything besides revolution. I'll have to ask about it next time I see the vet.

Like I said. I normally use Advantage for fleas and Interceptor for the all the worms. I wanted to try the Revolution for fleas/heartworms. It also controls ear mites and sarcoptic mange (diiferent kind of mite). MyI pup is having a tough time. I believe it's allergies because he has horribly red skin, ears and has even a raw patch under his belly. I refuse to give him steroids. I changed his food from Innova to Natural Balance Duck and Potato just to see if it's his diet. Yeast can cause allergies. Anyway, in the process of this I learned about skin mites (mange) and it usually is misdiagnosed for dermititis.... Revolution can cure and prevent sarcoptic mange. I figured I'd try it for a few month....but I do like that Revolution also kills ticks, wchih Advantage doesn't. I went another vet's office yesterday to pick up the Revolution, because my vet doesn't carry it. The vet tech said that Revolution doesn't prevent whip or round worms. I came home and look it up and sure enough he was right. He said that he uses the Revolution though and hasn't had any problems. If your dog isn't around other dogs, then your dog should be ok. I board Ringo about once a month. He loves his kennel. It's like a puppy daycare...the dogs get to play together off and on all day long....they are not caged up all day. They are out more than they are in. They also take them out every night. We, have the neighbor's cats coming in our yard and small wild animals, too. Whew...this was a long post. Thanks for all the replies and PLEASE tell me what your vet says. I'm going to ask the vet tech also. I'd like to hear different opinions on a supplement for the worms. I can't give him anything with heartworm medicine because Revolution already has that in it. This website is really gross looking, but very informative about the different types of worms: http://www.thepetcenter.com/exa/worms.html More on flea products: http://www.thepetcenter.com/gen/fleB.html
