Better luck next time. |
I don't think it was in jest. I think she had some questions about it because of her husband. I know he isn't the first husband to complain around here about dogs. I can tell you I'm the dog person at my house but my hubby tolerates, even sometimes seeming just like a dog person for my sake. And YT is a great place to get information and learn from others experience for the most part. It's a shame when someone cannot ask questions and not get flamed. Should she feel less than or be ran off from the site with harsh words because she had a question? No. |
I don't understand why everyone is so angry with me. I never said I was going to hurt or mistreat my dog in anyway. On my last day off it was suggested to me that Buddy would be happy if he could get outside, run in the grass, chase bee's... things MY dog likes to do. I was just looking for conversation. A simple "that's not a good idea because..." would have done. I never said I was going to tie him up outside and leave him for dead. I'm not going to defend myself anymore and I'm not going to waste anymore of YT or my time. I dont even know why I let this thread bother me but I don't like the idea of people, who know only 8 post about me thinking that I would EVER hurt or mistreat any animal. |
I hope you stick around b/c this is really a great site. I have skimmed over some post and please try to understand how passionate everyone on YT is about Yorkies - their babies - everyones babies - that's all. You are absolutely right that sometimes things come out the wrong way and I think that's the case here with alot of the posts. So, I hope you stay and learn. :) P.S. It is not a good idea to leave your baby outside without any supervision or anyone home. It's dangerous, between theft and predators and his own curiosity. There are better solutions ;) |
I'm sorry that your feelings are hurt. I don't think anyone meant to hurt you. No one said that you would abuse Buddy, they were just making sure you knew the dangers of leaving him outside. Please give us another chance. We really are a nice bunch around hear. Again I'm sorry. |
[QUOTE=DesertChildAZ;1897322]What a gal needs to do is tell her husband that all hanky panky is off the table if he thinks she's going to put her dog outside all day. /QUOTE] [B][B] Ha ha. I like that kelly. That's a good reply. :D Elaine |

Buddy Love. People mean well and I know that when posts are made sometimes they come off strong and maybe even mean. It's just that most of us here are not only Yorkie lovers but animal lovers. You've had your little guy 8 months. I know I've learned a lot since my first Yorkie ten years ago. You may mean well by thinking he will be happier outside but it's not in his best interest. Please, believe this. I'm not sure how big he is but either way he's at risk. If he's small he's at risk of hawks. I've read so many heart breaking stories about Hawks grabbing little Yorkies. Aside from that he's at risk of another dog getting in the yard and attacking him. No matter whether he's a bigger Yorkie or not he's still small and defenseless against a big dog. Believe me when I tell you that a lab, shepard any big dog with the want can jump a 6 ft. high fence. i know this first hand. Ten years ago Newman was in the yard and I just went in the house a minute and heard barking. I went out to find a big black lab standing over Newman. Thank God the dog was friendly and just decided to hop over to play or it could have been devestating. Aside from that you have heat issues. It's going to be getting hot and these dogs cannot withstand the heat or cold. And, then you have theft. Google and see what dogs are being stolen. Yorkies are top on the list. I know quite a few right here on YT that have had their dogs taken. Many only left them for minutes and returned to see someone grabbed them. I hope you will find a better solution and I hope you'll stick around her because it's a great place for new Yorkie owners. You'll learn so much. I know even after ten years of having Yorkies I'm still finding knowledgable info. here. And, really people do not mean to come across rude or nasty - they are really in it for the dog and it shows when they post. It is kind of like an adult looking out for a child. They look to protect first and sometimes feelings do get hurt. Elaine |

I wonder the same, as people get so involved in trying to help and do not see the poster come on once. My earlier post said I did not think this person was for real..felt it right from the start..anne |

I'm sorry, but I don't blame the OP for not coming back. She came here looking for answers to her questions and all she got in return was criticizm and blame, accusations and scorn. She has a legitimate question and only a few people came to support her, give her sympathy and to lend an ear. I am one of a few who sent her a PM apologizing for YT's behavior. She responded to me. I know the problem she faces. I feel bad for her and gave her some advice. I know I'll probably get flamed for this but I don't care. I'm not blaming anyone specifically, just the attitude as a whole. I've only been here a short time, and I've seen a lot of nice people, but the negative responses from the few are so overpowering. |
I think most everyone was NICE in replying to her - we all care about dogs .... oh - one more thing before I forget - an FYI on chasing bees - they can kill a dog if they're allergic !!! so be careful ok ??? people replied because they care - it wasn't to hurt anyones feelings - she asked and got replies. Better to hear the truth than have people tippytoe all around the real question - which was..... should she leave a yorkie outside all day ? |
I wouldnt leave Buddy outside. Yorkies are too small for that. There are too many things that can happen to them as others have posted |
