I have 3, all from the same breeder. 9,6, and 11 mos. My 6 yo has MVD, the other 2 are healthy as they come, no problems, not even non dissolving baby teeth I informed the breeder when my Zeus was diagnosed as a puppy, and she was great about it, and very forthcoming about his parents, and told me those two parents would be spayed/neutered and placed in pet homes. She is not a show breeder and admittedly breeds pet quality yorkies, but tries to avoid "tiny" yorkies and her puppies are reasonably priced. So I believe it is possible to have healthy yorkies. I guess there are never guarantees, but even after having a health issue with one of my dogs, I still trust the breeder. Any breeder can have an issue within a line or a pairing. It's what happens afterward that tells the story.

I sure wish you luck with your hunt. If you find that healthy yorkie keep me in mind. I have been looking for 5 years.I know there are a lot of reputable breeders out there, but the first ones that are willing to talk to you are usually not the ones to buy from. I spent 3000.00 on 2 show prospects. One has a coat like a cotton ball. The other has dislocated knee caps. Their both very sweet and I love them very much, but I still have nothing to show.

There are only a hand full of breeders that test for this. If they don't want to talk about this it's because they don't test for this and will offer a replacement. which will not be tested. I found a few breeders that do test for this, but it's been 7 yrs ago. The ones that have clear stock will have a certification that they are clear. I hope this is some help.
