I am sorry you feel that way but pointing out information constructively and insisting everyone feels the same way you do and bashing them when they don't is totally different. I have read this entire thread over and over again and I can't find where anyone bashed you or was rude to you because of how you feel about puppy mills. No one said you shouldn't feel the way you do but knowing when to agree to disagree without being childish is very important. Just because we may not always agree on the same issues doesn't make any of us bad people and it certainly should not come in the way of anyone enjoying this site.[/QUOTE :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: |
I quess I have a different interpretation of what rude is than others and I have seen some rude posts on this site in my time. I dont think educating and warning of the perils of buying puppy from pet stores is being rude. If someone that bought a pup from a pet store gets affended it is only because they are sensitive to that discussion. It doesnt take away from the fact that all puppies frm pet stores come from puppy mills and people on here should educate others about that. I dont see anything rude abut Jerseygirls posts |
I wanted also to say I know even I have gotten sensitive over some reputable breeder threads. My two are from a byb. That doesnt make them any less of a yorkie or that I lovee them any less. But it doesnt make the person making the post about reputable breeders wrong either. They are just educating |

I haven't read through all the posts, but you are wrong! She said, she is the second owner to both her dogs who were originally bought from pet stores! She did not say she bought them from pet stores. It's great that we all love our pets, but she we should also love people and take great care in how we respond to them. |

I think we should let this thread die a natural death. |
I find it interesting that you've only been a member for what a month and yet you seem know my posts. Wow is all I can say. A whole month and you know a lot. Wow. Elaine (mom to four rescues - one of which was beaten by a miller and 4 yrs. later still suffers the effects)
But what do I know, I've only been here a month!! Yeah your right!!! |
I haven't read through all the posts, but you are wrong! She said, she is the second owner to both her dogs who were originally bought from pet stores! She did not say she bought them from pet stores. QUOTE] I see that now and I apologize to Lin. I misread and thought that SHE bought the two from the petstore. I'm big enough to admit if I misread and made a mistake. I am also mom to a baby that originally came from a pet store. I adopted her through the newspaper after she was bought. I also have another that was a pup that came from a byb or puppymill. We don't know for sure if she was born to the byb or if the byb bought her from the Amish and sold her as her own. What we do know is that she was beaten and it took 6 months before my husband could touch her and 4 years before she'd allow certain strangers to approach her. And, my first Yorkie came from a BYB. and Yes I bought him. This was ten years ago before I knew anything about mills and byb and where pet stores get their dogs from. We lost him this past summer to a rare cancer. One my vet of 30 years had never seen. It was Newman and Noel who have made me the advocate I am. People do make mistakes and when that happens they need to big enough to admit they made a mistake and learn from it. I made a misread Lin's post and I admit that and I apologize to her. As far as your comment Melanie, once again trying to start trouble, yet you'll accuse me of personal attacks on you? Elaine |
Ok as I see it the OP as not been back, the person who was rude hasn't been back, her comment as been removed, but the battle still rages on... I think that everyone here knows that buying from pet store is not right, but when it comes to human nature/instinct I think its hard to pass a dog by, especially if you are a animal lover. I avoid pet stores because I don't want to feel quilty about leaving the dog behind, in my opinion pet stores are overpriced anyway. The best solution is to start petitions in your states to bring down these puppymills, join local humane society...whatever you feel will help bring these ppl down and save the animals. The bottom line is, WE SHOULD NOT PASS JUDGEMENT ON SOMEONE...regardless of the situation..Educate in a right way not in a mean, rude or spiteful way. :) |
BRAVO to jrsygal37 and blitz Thank you so much for the TRUTH and your SUPPORT against this horrible abuse. It is people like you that make a dent in shutting down those hell holes. I admire you and agree 100% with all you say. Thank you again. |
