We are home from the Vet. Poor baby was freaking out there. While I was holding her, she kept on giving me frantic little kisses, like she was appealing to me to get her out of there. He gave her medication for nausea and told me not to give her the pain medication again unless absolutely necessary. This is just so upsetting for me and I don't know what I would do without y'all's support. I am going to give her those drops right now, but I am still hesitant to give her food again. The only thing she shows any interest in is the Evangers Cooked Chicken, but I am afraid this might be too rich for her?? What a horrible day for my poor little Angel.:( Lauren |
You poor girl! Thankfully for me, Tucker was fixed before he came home with me or I would be as big a wreck as you. Heck, I've even been known to cry a little after leaving him at the groomer's! I hope Miss Mango recovers quickly and that Miss Mommy gets through it OK, too! ;) Sorry I have no advice, I just wanted to say good luck and I'm thinking of you. |

I'll bet she is having an adverse reaction to the pain meds... Roxi acted very strange whenever I gave her the pain meds they prescribed, however she wasn't throwing up... I had the meds changed and did the Rescue Remedy I've been telling you about... After that Roxi was 80% better! |
That Rescue Remedy is definitely on my to-do-list. I could give a drop to Mango before her next Vet's visit, which is hopefully only in another 10 days. But it sounds lke I should keep that stuff handy for such events. She really freaks out when she goes there; if she is in a harness and leash, she plants her little feet right in the doorway, as if by standing firm in all of her 4.2 lbs, she can stop the progress through the door. So far two hours have passes with no throwing up. I just want this to continue, especially through the night. The thought of her vomiting in her sleep is worrisome. I will put her crate right next to me and sleep with a torch, so that I can check on her periodically through the night. My poor baby is pooped, so is her Mama. Big hugs to all of you who have been so supportive today. I honestly don't know what I would have done without you guys. Lauren:ghug::ghug: |
I'm just stumbling onto this thread. Why all the worrying? Mango is the toughest little pup I've ever met! She's gonna be fine. Especially with all of us rooting for her. |
Lauren, How is Mango this morning? How are you? I hope you both were able to get some sleep... Praying for a good update this morning. |
Lauren I'm so glad you were able to get Mango back in to see the vet last night. I hope that she is feeling much better today and that you were able to get some rest. |
Lauren, I just wanted to tell you that I am going to Try to Bring my Laptop to work today. I'll try to get on and Check up.. ((((HUGS)))). I enjoyed our convo last night. It was great to Finally talk to you ;) |
Poor Baby, hope she is feeling better this morning ! |
Argh!! Yesterday, when I took Mango to the Vet, he said it was probably the pain meds that caused the vomiting. He gave me anti-nausea drops to give her, which she had this morning 20 minutes before I gave her the usual dose of antibiotics. She just threw up again.:(:(:(I am wondering now if it is the antibiotic that actually caused this, because it is now past 24 hours that she's had the pain medication. I am just at my wits end. Darn! I was hoping it would have stopped. Is she more lively than she was yesterday? Maybe ask the vet if the antibiotics might be doing it. Feel better, Mango! (hug) |

Lauren, when you took Mango in did they take her temperature? How does the area around her incision look? |
