I feel so bad for you. I literally feel your pain. It seems like yesterday that I was having one of mine done. What happened to Pia was very rare and nothing for you to be concerned about. I thought I better mention that because I didn't want you to worry more. I know these next hours are going to seem like forever. I'm seriously up so late all the time, so please feel free to pm me. I love to chat. :D |
your baby will be fine they are still dopey from the being put under my katie was very sleepy for 2 days She would just stand up and Id put her on a wee wee pad and she would go then put her back on her bed and she zonk out again. I just make a bed of blankets for her to lie on and let her sleep it off I was given meds to give her which i mixed in with the Chicken and Rice that she eat from my hand s little on day 2 .by day three she was up and walking about and by day 4 she up to her old self ! |
I'm so glad to hear Mango came through surgery well. I know that's a huge worry off your mind. If you give her any food, just give a tiny bit. Nutrical is a good idea. Sending big hugs to little Mango. |
Glad to hear Mango did well in surgery. I didn't feed Max when he came the first day, but I wanted to. He came home and slept. He mostly slept for a couple of days. |
Argh! I have had her home for 2 hours but have not posted because she has been sleeping on my lap and I was too scared to move her. My poor little zooming baby is SO not zooming right now. She just looks so completely pooped out. I wish there was some way that a dog could be "chemically" spayed, so that they would not have to suffer through this. I took her to the garage to try pee, she just walked around in circles over the paper and looked at me, but did nothing.(Did not want to risk outside in the yard). Is this normal. Also, do they get constipated after general anesthesia? Mango is prone to constipation as it is, so I want to be extra careful here. I could not bear the thought of any more pressure in her little tummy area than is absolutely necessary. It is so much harder than I thought to watch her like this. I just wish I could make it all better. She lies on my lap, and keeps looking over her shoulder at me, then laying her head back down....it's like "Mommy how could you let them do this to me?" Like I said before, I truly know this is a "routine" surgery, but for me there is nothing "routine" in watching one of my babies suffer. I am happy I have you guys to give me advice and hear my "moans", because I know that you all feel exactly the same way. Hugs, Lauren |
Oh Lauren! I know exactly what you are going through. As a matter of fact, Jazzie was under anetheia today too (deep dental and removing a cyst). Until the doctor called to tell me she is fine, I couldn't focus at work. Each pup is different, Jolie and Jewel sprang back from the surgey like nothing happened but Jazzie moans and is very needy. Then after a day or so, I KNOW she's milking us for all the attention - believe me, she will forget and act normal, look at me or Dan like she saying "oops!" and go back to moaning. Mango will be just fine with your love and care. The scary part is all over! Hugs to you both! |
I am glad you have her home with you. Hopefully, she will zonk out and sleep through the night. Tomorrow, she will be subdued, but more alert than this evening. :) |

Good Morning Lauren, I just had to check in to see how Mango is doing? Were you able to get any sleep? That first day is so hard on them, but also on the families too, but before you know it Mango will be zooming all over the place and this will just be a memory. I hope today is better for both of you. hugs, Janie |

I'm just checking in to see how Miss Mango is doing this morning. I hope she is back to her old self today. I'll check back later for an update. Lots of hugs and puppy kisses from me and Jamie! |
Thank you my friends for all your messages. You have no idea how much they are appreciated. I have not been able to get on the computer until know, because she has just been SO miserable. She is shivering, so I keep her covered in a baby blanket on my lap. She has absolutely not appetite and has thrown up a few times this morning. I spoke to the Vet, but says this is to be expected. Seeing as she will not touch her kibble, do y'all thing the Evanger's Cooked Chicken will be okay to give her?? I just wish I could take her obvious discomfort away. I really hate this. Lauren |
