| He Hates the Car! Linus HATES being in the car. He shakes, and cries, and tries to get onto my lap. I didn't think it was safe for him to sit on my lap, so now I have a little car seat for him next to me that I can belt him into. Anyway, he does NOT have fun in the car, and I feel so badly when he is so scared. Does anyone have any suggestions for helping him to enjoy car rides? Thanks! |

| Hi there... Its something he has to grow out of. Meka is 1 yr and shes and she's still growing out of it. She's much better than she was as a baby, but still working on it... The best thing to do it to keep taking him for rides so that he can get better But, I do advise you not to allow him to eat/drink before taking a long car rides. Because they are so nervous, the eating will only cause them to vomit or poop and makes for a messy car ride...

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Start out with just sitting in there and letting him calm down. Then after a few times of that you can take a small short ride say around the block. Then eventually up your driving time. The car sickness you can give them a gingersnap cookie. Their nerves is what makes them get sick.

| I got Lucy used to it by giving her a favorite treat every time we get in the car. The gingersnap sounds like a great idea...Also, Lucy likes her rides in her Buddy Seat because she can see everything

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I think the seat does a world of good. Zoey always threw up in the car...once I got the console seat she was fine.. no more shaking in there. I think it's nice and snug and makes them feel safe.

| Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I'm glad to hear that Linus is not alone and that there is hope. I will start slow and use treats to reward him! |
