| From a newbie [FONT="Arial"][[SIZE="3"] I just found this site today and the timing is perfect. Yesterday I took my little Ethyl to PetSmart and bought some treats for her. She did not like the people OR the other dogs. She became somewhat nervous about our trip. She is a total house dog so is not a dog's dog. After we returned home, she had what I would call a convulsion, and spit up some white thick foam. She recovered quickly and I tought nothing more about it. Now, today, (Sun) she did it again. I was looking online at different sites and saw about hypoglycemia... Has anyone out there had a similar situation? I gave her some Karo syrup and she now is great. Thank you for any help you can give me!!! |

| I would take her to the vet first thing tomorrow morning. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I know it must have been scary. I wish I could give more help, but none of our Yorkies in 16 years have ever had that problem. There are LOTS of people on here who are just full of all kinds of knowledge and you will learn a lot. By the way -- welcome to YT!

| Is your baby a puppy? Dogs can throw up when under stress. Mine get sick in the morning on an empty stomach if they don't eat first thing. Other then that I don't know. I would call the vet and ask them. Welcome to YT you will love it here.

| Did she eat anything at petsmart? I know they keep treats at the cash register to offer to dogs. I let Milo have some at petco one day an he threw up, I dont know if is was a coincidence or there was a problemwith the treats but since then he gets no treats unless I know exactly what it is. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome. If she is young under 6 months she may have had a hypoglycemic episode or just stressed out. When mine had hypoglycmia they would be wobbly and sometimes fall over or act almost drunk. I would not have considered it a seizure thoug, so I would definately have the vet check her out. Keep us posted.

you didn't say how old she is or how big but I'd be VERY Careful taking her out till she's had all her shots and careful what you feed her also - This could have been a hypo episode and if she is very tiny/young - you have to watch her Very close - if she's had one she could easily have another you can get some Nutrical and have it on hand for that kind of thing - all the pet stores sell it | |

| Thank you all Thank you all for your suggestions and concerns. Ethyl is 5 yrs. old, so it was a shock to have this happen at this stage in her life. We will watch her very very closely!!! -- she is my life as my husband is disabled... she brings such joy to both of us all I'm sure you are aware. Again, thank you for your concerns!! |
