Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I got bitten by a rottie today.... OMG I was walking to the train station minding my own business. This guy was walking his dog. I didn't approach the dog or say anything. All of a sudden the effing dog turned and lunged and grabbed my arm. He put a good effort at biting into me . I managed to pull my arm out of his mouth. The guy tells me oh I am sorry. He has never done that before. Of course that sets me off. I was like he has never but I am sure it won't be the last. Who the F@*k are you kidding. I was livid. If it weren't for my leather coat that dog would have torn up my arm. I told him you should have that dog muzzled. I don't give a flying F@*k. If the dog had ripped my coat I would have been calling the cops and I am sorry that he is their family pet but I would have done all I could to have him put to sleep. I am not afraid of any size dog nor do I worry about the stereotypes associated with good dogs or bad dogs. But I know that dog has had to have shown aggression in the past. There is no way that it would have been the first time for him. My coat has some scrapes on it from his mouth. My arm hurts some and I have a bruise on my skin. I am so pissed right now. I keep thining what if I were someone walking with a child...lots of times I have my kids with me. He is walking in an area at the time of day when lots of kids are out walking to school.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Oh my gosh Beth first Villette with her encounter this morning with a Pit and now yours. I am so glad that you are OK and that you only got a bruised arm (still bad but boy could have been worse). I'm deathly afraid of Pits and I don't care what people say about them how it's the owner, blah, blah, blah...I'm tired of hearing that. I think they should all be muzzled when out in public because you just never know.

| Oh my gosh! I am glad you are okay. That's horrible! I wouldn't have let that guy go -- I would have gotten his name, phone number, address and giving it to the police and reported. I don't care if he didn't break skin - he should find a dog park or something!

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | This is crazy!!! I'm with you on ignoring the stereotypes, and I believe in judging each dog individually. This would be one of those aggressive dogs that has no business being around people! a dog that would lash out like that, unprovoked, is obviously an aggressive dog. I'm sorry that happened. And I'm glad that your injury wasn't worse.

| Wow. Some owners are so clueless. I'm glad you're ok. That owner should make sure that his dog is muzzled for every walk. I don't know what I would have done if that happened to me...

| wow that is scary! that dog could have caused serious damage, Im so glad you are ok! I might get lot of negative feedback on what Im about to say but I do not trust pittbulls or rotties. I have seen way too much to put myself and my kids near them. just think what would have happened if that dog did to a small child what it did to you or even if you were walking Zoey. Anyway I just glad your ok

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | Oh my word, Beth! I agree...he should be reported. I understand about perceptions of breeds, etc; but, I've had negative experiences (UNprovoked attacks) from both a Pit bull and a Shephard! It's very difficult now, not to let that show through when I meet either of the breeds And, Abigial is in obedience class with Shephards (thank goodness we only have one class left!) - and the trainer keeps telling me she'll pick up my vibes. But, I have heard so MANY horror stories, right here, on YT, where larger dogs have attacked and killed smaller dogs - for no reason!

| How scary for you! I'm glad it didn't turn out worse. My hubby was nearly bitten by a Great Dane yesterday. It went for his arm, but only got his jacket. Thank Goodness on both accounts.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Definitely shouldn't have happened. Thankfully I didn't have one of my kids. I never let them walk to the side of the curb near the street so this dog would have been right at the side to hurt one of my kids. I was very unlady like and cussed that man out. I told him the dog should be muzzled. The dog was well over 100lbs. I told him don't give me that ish that he is a puppy. A dog that big even playing can cause a world of hurt and your walking him outdoors so he should be muzzled. Stupid MFers are dog owners. I am very careful when I have Zoey. I don't let her play with anyone's dog unless I know the dog and the person. Last week I brought her to the city with me to work and I was walking her and someone's bigger dog wanted to approach her. I scooped her up right away. You just never know. You know maybe I should rethink my fear of dogs in general. When the dog lunged at me I didn't get scared or act insane. I just shoved him off and pulled my forearm out of his mouth. Maybe I should be smarter and be cautious. Honestly they should require licensing and obedience training for all big dogs. That should be a state requirement if your going to own a big dog in a city setting.
