| SRC's Ask Dogtor Bucky As posted in the newsletter, here is the thread: Psychologist, life strategist and writer. Born in October 2007 in Oklahoma, Dogtor Bucky relocated to Colorado shortly after to be with his forever mommy. He grew up to become 3.5 pounds of spoiled rotten furbaby. His mommy soon realized how smart he was after he caught on to the training and tricks so quickly that she decided to further his education. He received his dogree in animal behavior and training specializing in Stress related to Spoiling. Later he received his Masters dogree and Ph. D in Psychology from the University of California Barkeley where he graduated summa cum laude (top dog). Dogtor Bucky has been given the privilege and honor of being the V.I.C. Counselor (V.I.C stands for Very Important Canine) for the Spoiled Rotten Club. It is his duty to assist and support members who are exhausted and stressed because of spoiling overdose. Dogtor Bucky will have his assistant (his mommy, Countrygirl) type the article called “Ask Dogtor Bucky” that he will dictate for the Newsletter and he needs help from SRC members. Countrygirl will start a thread called “SRC’s Ask Dogtor Bucky”. In this tread please ask questions and voice concerns that he can address in the newsletter. The questions can be from stressed out and exhausted mommies and daddies or from the spoiled furbabies. Please let me know who the question is from (person or furbaby). A good example would be this thread by Philly: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=123195 “Did you ever feel like a piece of furniture for your furbaby? When I sit on the sofa and put my feet on the ottoman, I wind up with Yorkie on my knees. When I lie down on my side and read, my thigh becomes a Yorkie headrest. I'm tellin ya, I am used and abused by a little furball. How did I let this happen to me?? LOL” ~From Philly’s Thread I can understand your pain here Philly, but maybe you are looking at your Yorkies’ desire to be near you in the wrong light. Yorkies are very loving, affectionate and loyal animals. In your furbabies mind they just want to be near you and touch you. Think of it this way, do you know what it is like to be near someone you are in love with? What it is like when he/she touches you or holds your hand? Do you know the feeling you get when that person near you everything is perfect and you felt safe? That is why your Yorkie sits on your knees and rests his head on your thigh. He is in love with you. To him, you are the greatest thing in his whole entire world. Now, that should make anyone feel special and not like a piece of furniture. I hope this helps with your frustration. ~Dogtor Bucky~

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Lol, that is so funny, you are very clever. I would like to know if its "normal" for a person to hold a stinky bully stick while their dog chews on it.

| Dear Dogtor Bucky, I have not slept on anything but my right side, curled up with Toto snugged up to me for about 4 1/2 years. Before that and for my entire life I slept on my stomach, back or left side ... never my right! I wake up really wanting to turn on my left side but don't dare because I don't want to disturb the little Diva who snores so loudly that she sometimes wakes us!! My question is this: Should I just sleep any way I want and rest better or should I continue to think only of her rest & comfort?? [I would also like to add ... the rest of our lives revolve around her also! Places we go, things that we do and meals!!]

| Dear Dogtor Bucky, I have a really concerning problem, actually it's 2 problems: When it's lunch time we all sit at the table and I have to hand feet my M&Ms. So... with my right hand I feed Mitzi and with my left hand I feed Maggie. How the heck am I supposed to eat my lunch? Hubby rejects the idea of feeding me and it's very uncomfortable to eat with my feet... Can you help me? |

Thank you very much for the compliment. I am so clever because my mommy spent a lot of money on my education so that I could be Dogtor Bucky. I think it is very normal for the person to hold a sticky bully stick while their dog chews on it. It can be a very tough job. When I chew on my toys it really wears me out!! So I make my mommy hold mine after I get them nice and chewy. That way I save up my energy so I can chew longer. It makes perfect since to have your person hold your chew toy. Thank you for your question Dogtor Bucky * Just a note* Please be careful with the bully sticks and rawhide chews. It is very easy to choke on them. Please see my thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=120479 </IMG></IMG>

Thank you very much for the compliments. I am very happy with my new position as V.I.C. Counselor, what an honor! Glad to hear everything is perfect and you are not having any problems. Banjo, make sure you are receiving the proper amount of spoiling. Let me know if there is ever anything that I can help you with. Dogtor Bucky

That is an excellent idea. I will have to see what I can put together. I will not be able to use my assistant for that one, as I will be giving all of my secrets away and I don't want her to find out. So it may take me a little while as I have a hard time typing with just paws and no thumbs. Great Idea Banjo! I will get started. Dogtor Bucky

| Yorkies are notorious for eating poop. Some don't even want to wait for it land. Do you have any insight to why your friends do this? --Susan |

This is a very good question and one I have had to deal with in my personal life. If Toto is sleeping with you then you always have to be careful that you don't roll over on her. Which may cause you not to sleep well. So the short answer to your question is no, do not just sleep the way you want to, you have to think of her comfort. That being said, there is another opition. My mommy was having the same problem with me. She was sleeping so poorly that she was grouchy when she got up in the mornings. Try getting treats out of her then next to impossible! Anyway, she bought me a bed and put it right next to her bed so that she could still be close to me. And I didn't like that bed, so she bought me another one. Long story short, I now have 5 beds and she found one that I like. It is a special doggie bed and it plugs into the wall and gets warm. So that I am nice and snuggley all night long. I love it and mommy is sleeping good again until I start barking at 6 am cause I GOTTA GO! But I get treats in the mornings again. I hope this helps your mommy sleep better! Dogtor Bucky
