Wish me luck! Mia's 1st hotel experience tomorrow! Tomorrow begins the 3 day gymnastics meet I am running. One of the "perks" is that I get free hotel (and they allow pets!). Mia will be in the room a bit alone. I am taking 1/2 of her 'pen' and putting a tarp under for any accidents to protect the carpet. I'm hoping she will do OK. My hubby is VERY much against it, but I got her just so that when I do all the traveling I do with kids, I will be able to take her. I won't be online til Monday, but will let you know how it goes. I THINK the only time she will be alone is about 5 hours while my son competes. Otherwise someone should be with her in the room! I hope it works - next weekend I go to CA and she stays w/ hubby and will be in her pen while he is at work. The following week is OKC, then 5 more driving weekends in a row she can go on. Wish me luck!

Good Luck! I think she will do fine. I would much rather do that then have to leave her with friends or kennel her. We took Snoodles to Yellowstone Park etc. and she loved it. We left her in her crate (covered) when we went to dinner. I was a nervous wreck but the people next to us said she never made a peep! Let us know how it went!

HAve fun at the meet. Little Mia should be fine. Just bring her some creature comforts (a toy, some worn clothes of yours with your scent on em) to leave for her when she is alone. Good luck to your son competing! Have fun!

Mia did NOT like the hotel - especially the elevator! The first day she cried continually for my dh until I got back and she snuggled to sleep. Second day she was fine as long as someone was with her. She stayed in her crate in the van most of the time she would have had to be alone in the room.(and of course, she found a way to eat her harness) She started to get whiny again when we started hauling things out to cars. Poor baby! She shook like an earthquake in the elevator. On the positive side, she did very well on the potty issues and leash walking. This weekend California and she stays home w/ daddy - but has to be in her pen all day one day. Next weekend Oklahoma hotel for 3 days.

So sorry! I get the shaking also. When I am going someplace with out her or when it is time to go to bed. I'm kind of glad to hear other people's dog shake like that too. Are you taking her to Oklahoma with you? Pat

Mia sure travels more than I do.. he , he , he . I think that's great though. Oh yea, my lil boy doesn't like elevators at all. He's terrified of them. I have to carry him in. hope things go well with mia in the hotel but i'm sure she'll do great!

My CA trip this weekend is cancelled - Son can't do parallel bars or high bar due to hand strain, so I'd rather save the $1500 it would have cost (GEE, that would cover getting another Yorkie - LOL!!) And, Mia won't be alone in her pen all day tomorrow. It was pretty funny, but sad this past weekend. I was carrying Mia thru the hotel lobby when the girl behind the bar says "What a cute Yorkie. I have a Purebred Yorkie, too, and he has to the the UGLIEST Yorkie in the world. I bet I could win a prize. He was a gift from my Ex Husband and is almost as Ugly." I laughed so hard. Poor puppy!

Wow! I can't believe someone would say that, no matter what a Yorkie looks like! I think Yoda is the cutest (sorry y'all!) and even if he wasn't the cutest really, I'd still think he is. :P

the psychology behind this story probably goes back to the ex husband as the source of her real anger....... so she probably is trying to convince herself that he was a good for nothing (and did nothing good......... ) for her......
