| yorkie or not I Just purchased my LIL BABY GIRL CHLOE on 3/17/2008. the breeder informed me that she was a purbreed yorkie and would be no mor than 5 an1/2 lbs. But as I was looking at pics of a silky yorkie I started to wonder if i really and truly indeed have a yorkie. the reason i am asking what you guys think was because 8 yrs ago I purchased a yorkie from a puppy mill I know wrong move on my part but by the time he was a year he was 15lbs...not a pure breed at all. I would love her the same no matter what she weighs or is...but before i send anyone else to the breeder I wanted other opinons. Take a look at her PIc! SHE IS SO CUTE |

| I would like to see a picture of her. There are larger yorkies that are pure breed. I have one that is 11 lbs and I know there are some from other members on here that are bigger than that. They dont fall into the yorkie standard as far as weight but they are still pure breed yorkies. We call the bigger ones teapots on here

| Well, she looks like a cute little yorkie to me. Is she registered? The papers should say if she is yorkie or not. When a place a puppy, I never promise a certain weight, it's just a guess and some breeders know their lines, and can be fairly accurate, but still you never know. |

| If she is 2lbs at 12 weeks she will probably only be 4 to 4 1/2 lbs. You take the twelve weeek weight and double it and it gives you an estimate of adult weight. She is really small for her age

| She looks pure yorkie, of course, when they're that young, it's really hard to tell, but, looks like she'll be around 4 lbs or so full grown..but, remember, just because they're bigger doesn't mean they're silkies..Yorkies used to be bred much bigger, and you did get throw backs..Mine is 100% yorkie and weighs between 13-14 lbs |

| Even a purebred yorkie CAN be 15 lbs. A few people here have bigger yorkies. The standard is 7 lbs or under, but that doesnt mean anything bigger than that is not purebred. 2 lbs at 12 weeks sounds about right for a yorkie.
