I didn't join YT til my Yorkie was 5. |
I have posted before but I am still "new"!! Lily gets car sick everytime she goes in the car even if it is around the block and back!! The vet said to give her dramamine?? I haven't taken her anywhere yet in the car to try it but I cut them in 1/4 and will give her 1/4 of a pill I guess?? Does anyone else have this problem and do you think she will outgrow it?? She will be 16 weeks old this week. I put her in a plastic carrier in the car but I almost have to do that because I don't want to hold her and drive!! PLUS .... I will be traveling back and forth to Az. sometime in August and she will be 6 months old by then so I am hoping that she can travel because I fly!! She quit screaming when I take her and started throwing up instead?? Poor little girl??? Thanks!! |

Another suggestion might be the lookout car seats they have for dogs? It puts the dog up higher so they can see where they are going and sometimes that helps with car sickness. Hope you find a solution soon. |

I am home most of the time so he wasnt alone often, but he did well when we did have to go out. I still had grandma keep him for longer periods of time, but that was becuase he enjoyed the visits with her. Hope that helps. |

Before you try Dramamine, I would suggest giving about 3/4 of a Ginger Snap cookie about 20 minutes before leaving. This works for a few dogs and would be much better than medication. Make sure there are no artificial sweeteners in the cookies though. If that doesn't work you might have to go with medication. You can post this question in the Health and Diet section and somebody might have another suggestion.:) |

Hi everyone! My name is Mica. I have had my puppy, Dixie, since July. She was 16 weeks and 2 pounds when I got her from her breeder. She now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds and seems to be full grown. Does anyone know when Yorkies normally stop growing? Dixie is a diva dog and hates this cold Indiana weather! Looks like its going to be a long winter for us:) I'm a Colts fan (season ticket holder) and Dixie is sporting her Colts sweater in my pic! I want to thank you in advance for your fabulous advice. I've been reading off and on for a few months and you all have helped me a great deal. Thanks! Mica |

You might want to post your introduction in "General Discussion" by starting your own thread so more people will see it. :) We are happy to help if you have any questions. It is soooo cold in Michigan too.:( |

Hi everyone Hi, I am new to this website. I just learned how to add my dog's picture thanks to helpful people. I was wondering how long it takes to learn how to do the adult topknot? I am new to this and just wondering. |

Yorkies are awesome. I hope you can get one of your own. :) |

My dog's hair is too short for topknots, so I don't know how to do them or at what age the hair is long enough but if you post this in the Grooming Section, you should get an answer. |
Thanks Ellie Mae, do you have any advice about this website? |

Hi what is a thread with me been new don't what is could you explain please |
Hi everyone I'm also a newbie here i have a 9 week old puppy named Bria!! She has been with us for a week now. I have two questions....When she first came home with us we were giving a bag of dry puppy food (Bil-Jac) but she wasn't to keen on it.So we went out and picked up a different dry puppy food (science diet) that one also is a no go!! so we picked up wet puppy food (wellness) that is the only thing she will eat! is it a bad idea to let her eat wet food? we mixed it with dry and she will just spit out the dry parts! question 2: how long should i wait to take her to the groomer? I have giving her baths at home already but i wasn't sure about the groomer. |
Hi there! Congrats on your new puppy! My groomer said the earlier they can get used to being groomed, the better (within reason, of course). So, I would call a respected groomer in your area and ask them what they think. Good luck! |

You can search and post in the health and diet section about the food situation. BJ and SD foods aren't great but Wellness is fair. Be careful with their kibble though because there has been some concern of fish bones in their fish formula. It is fine to feed only canned but most people disagree with this. Whatever you feed, her teeth should be brushed. You could post your other question in the Grooming Section. She shouldn't go until at least one or two weeks after her last puppy shot. At tje same time, she should go as soon as possible so she gets used to it. Quite a few of us groom ours yorkies at home because it is much cheaper and then you don't have to worry about neglect, abuse and potentially dangerous situations (like leaving the table while the dog is in a noose and drying cages) while you're not watching. |
Thank You for all the info! |

How do you get rid of the green add tags in post? As non English speaker very confusing! Also I wish to donate. If I donate twenty dollar do I get blue donate member sign? |

I don't think the links can be disabled, but you can always ask admin in the Site Suggestions area. For donations, not sure when you get a blue sign, but you can look on the donations thread at the top of this screen. Or I can copy and paste your questions into the Site Suggestions area if you want. :) |
No, you can disable them, I haven't seen them in years, I just don't remember how. Found this link (hope this works) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sit...red-links.html Disney, what language do you speak? Your english is very good. |
