| New to Yorkies with 10 week old girl - Molly Hi everyone, My name is Gayla. Known around the web as MomGadget. A couple of weeks ago, while attending my kids wrestling meet, I met the most adorable Yorkie puppy who happened to be for sale. Needless to say, I left the meet committed to making the purchase and now have myself a beautiful baby girl named Molly. I've purchased books and just about any toy, carrier, blanket and treat any tiny puppy could want. The original owner gave me a couple of cans of food to last her until I could get her some, but after reading some threads here, I'm not sure sure it's not the food that's causing my little girl to smell so bad. She's far to pretty to stink. I'd like to know from the experts what I might do, food I should get, shampoo I should use - etc. I look forward to connecting with you via this board and learning how to care for my precious little bundle the best way possible. | When I got Tiny the breeder told us to feed him Nutriben which is an organic baby food here in Spain, it's chicken and rice whizzed up with no other additives or flavourings and is gentle on their little stomachs. He also had Affinity Yorkie puppy kibble soaked in water. He also advised us not to bathe Tiny when he got a bit whiffy but to use a special mousse which you rub into their hair and leave in - it's called Dermocanis but this is the spanish name. I'm sure you can buy a similar non-spanish product. Hope that helps! |

| Thanks for the warm welcome! I've added a couple of pictures as attachments. I've found threads that discuss the oder and possibly switching foods. I am going to try that and see if it works. I'm really enjoying all the reading and seeing all the pictures of everyone's babies. |

| The lady I purchased her from fed her Pedigree Puppy and a tube vitamin type gel. I don't have the tube handy - but it smelled like maple syrup sort of. The oder seems to come from her skin and/or coat. Her breath is normal puppy breath. |

| The gel was prob. Nutri-cal you can get that at the petstore, as for the food you might wan't to find a more gal one, but you need to slowly switch over you can do a search on this site and find out lots of things regarding food. If you do not want to give a bath you can wipe the pup down with unscented baby wipes. |
