| Fed up with my pup's biting...It hurts Okay so im wiping his face with a warm cloth and he starts growling and makes his face look evil. Then all of a sudden he snaps and bites through my finger. Im not kidding I cried. He pulled this crap the other day at the vet's office when she was looking at his teeth and he bit her and she got his tounge and pressed it on his tooth and he stopped biting her What do I do. My finger is bleeding(he broke through the skin). Can you imagine if he bites a groomer or someone He is only 91/2 weeks. Why is he like tis. Apple bitter spray doesnt work Im fed up! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The Loved Dog by Tamar Gellar - buy it, read it. It's awesome. She is Oprah's trainer for her dogs.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hang in there. One thing to do anytime he hurts you is to *YELP*, just like you are another pup that he just hurt - you know how when dogs are playing and one "yelps" and it stops them dead in their tracks? That's what you need to do. You're saying, in his language, "ouch!!!! that hurt! you went too far, now leave me alone!". The book really IS good, a quick, easy read too!

| If he's only 9 1/2 weeks then he wasn't with his siblings and mommy to learn bite inhibition so you will need to be extra patient and keep leading him to toys that are okay for him to bite and chew. I know, it does hurt when those little teeth get a piece of you!

Chewy was a biter also. he hated being groomed so when he would try to bite I would stick my hand up to his mouth to show him no fear...He never bite me when I stuck my hand to his mouth! He would realize I was not going to let him be the boss... he is a sweet heart now.

| I am so sorry you are going through this. Nothing worked better than neutering, for Bear - and that is 2 months away at least for you. Bear still isnt 100%. I hope your baby gets better. I remember the evil face and crazy look in the eye, too. |

| Tia does this too; whenever I go to clean her face or something she opens her mouth and has a look on her face like "put your hand on me again and ill bite... I swear i'll bite". I swear if I could read her mind I bet thats what she would be saying. Only when she doesn't bit hard so I'm thinking maybe she doesn't want to hurt me!? The thing that I have been doing that works pretty well (learnt it off Cesar) is when she does that put your hand into a fist an but it in her face. When I do this to Tia; she comes out of her aggressive state and either starts licking me or puts her head down (like in shame lol). HTH
