| Could we be having puppies My babygirl had her 2nd heat. Feb 21st was the first day she bled. She has been sick the past few day w/poopies and just wants to be held by mommy. She's been eating but not like she normally does. My husband keeps saying her teats are prominent. Last night at dinner, she was by myside and would not stop barking, so I broke off a piece of my chicken (baked) and gave her a piece, but she nearly took my hand off, and because I gave her a piece, I had to be fair and give the boys a piece and she was aggressively pushing them out of the way. Are these signs, she may be pregnant? |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | If the boys are old enough and not neutered that would mean ther is a good chance she is pregnant. Hopefully the boys are smaller than her if she is. Good luck.

As long as the female is five pounds, it should be okay but I still personally wouldn't use a large male.

from what I've read on here, I don't know if this is true or not but if the male is bigger and the female is smaller they might have larger pups that could cause serious complications for the pregnant mother. I think...someone correct me if i'm wrong please!

| I think the mother decides the size of the pups and the father whether there are more boys or girls.. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | The mother doesn't always determine the size as they can take after a previous generation. My Mandy was never over 4.2 lbs unless pregnant and her first mate was 4.4 lbs. He 4 sons weighted between 3.4 lbs and over 8 lbs when a year old. The second male she had puppies with was just at 5 lbs but smaller than her. Puppies were small like mom and dad. Krissy is 14 lbs and Teddy was 16 lbs and one female was 16 lbs at 7 months!!! This was a shock to everyone. I think she is about 20 lbs full grown. Krissy and Teddy are both blue and gold and their big girl was very black and tan and has no silver or gold at almost two years old. It looks like Krissy's grandfather was black and tan. It is just easier on the mom if dad is smaller from what I have heard.

| LOL No, you just never know...but, I love her, she's a real sweetie..I know when I called the breeder(she told me Haley would be fullgrow around 4 lbs), she said I could exchange her for another one, I said NO WAY...but, see, just because parents are small, doesn't mean the pups will stay small...I've got proof of that |
