| Nico Got OUt of the Gate When I left this morning for work, I told my husband when he goes to his union meeting to make sure that Nico is behind the gate. So his friend shows up and my husband takes dow the gate to let him in, puts the gate back up and puts Nico behind it. When he gets back from the meeting, where is Nico. Nico is in the living room. Seems hubby put the gate up too high and he got under it. I said you must have really put it high, because Nico has a cone on his head. It was very funny he said to see Nico greet him at the basement steps when he got it. All in all he was a good boy and made no mess. So this was a test, now I know he can be a good boy. I just love him to pieces. |

| Well... just wait til' he's actually able to jump it At 1 yr and 4 small pounds Meka can clear her gate...easy. We've recently came home to her sitting in a chair in the living room, just waiting for us...lol. So, we've had to start crate training her Good luck

| These puppies can really surprise you. Bitsy can't jump over the gate, I think she has really stubby legs or something... I have a gate up that I wedge between a heavy garbage can. It's been setup like that since I brought her home, now 6 months later, she's learned how to move the garbage can and escape through the gate. The first few times she's escaped, I came home and the apartment was fine, except for the odd chewed up pieces of paper. Then last week, I came home and nearly had a heart attack. She got into my stash of yarn (which is on a high shelf - I think the cats must have knocked it down) and somehow managed to tangle herself in it. It was wrapped around the coffee table, around her body and the scariest of all, around her neck! Everytime she tried to move, it wrapped tighter on her. She was so entangled, she was lying on her side and looked so sad. I cut all the yarn away from her as quick as I could and I thought I was going to bawl my eyes out. Luckily, other than the scare, everyone's ok. I have now bolted the gate to the wall so there's no way she can escape. I learned the hard way that these puppies can always find different ways to give you heart attacks. Try to puppy proof as much as you can, than try even harder.

That is exactly why all of my furbabies are put in seperate ex-pens when I leave even for a few minutes. Snowboy, my Pommie, is a chewer and I don't trust him out of my sight. Even when I am home they don't have free run of the house. Have gates all over. They always follow me but are confined to the room I'm in.
